Back acne, sometimes called "bacne. The term bacne refers to acne that occurs on the back. Bacne occurs on the back in the form of blackheads, pimples and spots and these can reach the advanced stage in the form of cysts. Nearly all of us have had to deal with acne at some point in our lives. This embarrassing skin problem usually affects the face or quite possibly the neck or down the chest. However some people also develop acne breakouts on their back, usually in the form of pimples, blackheads or other forms of acne similar to what develops on other areas of the body. Back acne can be very severe, often times more acute than on the face. Since there are thousands of pores on the back, there are a lot more places where acne can surface. Since back acne, commonly referred to as "bacne" can often times be cystic and leave scars, a topical treatment alone may not work as well as it does on the face



Causes

According to this article on the Acne Resource Center, back acne tends to occur around puberty when the sebaceous glands, which produce sebum, start functioning. When too much sebum is produced, pores and hair follicles can become clogged, attracting bacteria. This can lead to acne.

Back Acne Treatment

Since the skin is tougher, body acne will need to be treated differently than acne on the face and neck. However, acne treatment is still possible.

* Wear natural fibers, or fabrics specifically engineered to wick moisture away from the skin. This is especially important if you�re working out.

* Stop carrying a backpack until the acne clears. Carry a bag with your hands instead.

* Shower as soon as possible after perspiring

*Since bacteria can exacerbate the condition, always wear clean clothes, bras and T-shirts when working out and put a clean towel down before lying on exercise machines or mats at the gym.

There is no single treatment that works for all people so you may have to try a few treatments before finding the one that works for you. Furthermore, even when a treatment is working, your skin may look worse for a while before it looks better. This means that you will need to continue your daily treatments even when the treatment appears not to be working to find out whether after four or six weeks you begin to see results.
