School can be fun for most kids, that is. But there are some who thinks it is just all a nuisance. It is important for us parents to guide them along their school's journey and make it easy for them as much as possible. If we know how to take things properly, we will know when and how to get our kid's school stuff going in smooth way.
Here are some tips for you to aid you regarding this matter:
1.Let your kid ask you questions. Appear to them as someone they can readily approach whenever they have something to ask or are just curious about something. It's their process of learning and we should not prevent them. Although, if you don't know the exact answer, do not pretend as if you really know everything because chances are you will give them the wrong information and may cause problems later on.
2.As much as possible, make your kid's life stress-free. Without any sort of stress, your child can be happy which will eventually help your kid to become successful because they tend to do better when they are happy.
3.Teach them to study and review notes at least a week from their exams. Let them know how to use their long-term memory by teaching them not to cram. Cramming usually is not really learning. It is just a nick-of-a-moment knowledge that can easily be forgotten.
4.Remind them always to take down correct assignments so that when you work it out with them, it is easier to deal with because you know exactly what you are up against.
5.As a parent, you are a role model to your kids. You are their first teachers. They learn from you. So be supportive and be positive about everything. By being supportive you are letting them learn on their own. You are encouraging them to practice independence in the correct way and you're guiding them towards the right path.
6.Let your kid practice reading in front of you as much as possible. This is the only way that they would master this art with of course your help. Your child can learn in school but you are the only one who can make him or her master it given your support and encouragement.
7.Teach them to put their things inside their room as soon as they arrive home from school. This will prevent things from losing or make a little more organization. If they put their things inside their room, you are sure that nothing will be missing unless it is an inside job or it has already been missing at school.
8.Teach them to write down all the things that their teachers are repeating at class. Chances are that these things are important that is why it has to be repeated. If she writes something on the board while lecturing should be taken down note too. These things might just go out in their examination.
9.Always remind them to never ever cheat and be lazy. Cheating is never a good way to learn in fact they will never learn at all, they will just copy someone else's work but it never is their work. Teach them to do projects ahead to save you both some time. They don't have to cram.
10.During examinations, teach your kids to read and follow all instructions given and listen to what the teacher is saying before attacking the paper. Have them read the questions carefully and tell them to double check their answers if they have extra time to spare.
Your role as parent is clearly defined as your ability to make or break the molding of your kids. They will depend on you for love, for support, for attention and for your teaching. You must make them proud of themselves and they will be proud of you as well.
