Benefits Of Physical Exercise

    View:
One of the most important parts of recovering from a serious accident is with physical therapy exercise. People with debilitating diseases that affect their mobility, coordination and brain function also benefit from physical therapy aide. What many people don't think of is how a rehabilitation program can assist children who are coping with serious problems of their own. There are many benefits to physical therapy for people of all ages who were either born with or later received back, neck, spine, leg or neuromuscular problems.

There are many benefits for children with traumatic brain injuries, developmental delays and muscle problems that receive physical therapy exercise. Not only does physical therapy exercise help people regain mobility, though, but it also helps them to deal with pain. In a nation that is becoming more and more dependant on prescription drugs, finding alternative forms of pain relief is a growing concern. A rehabilitation program may include strength training, stretching exercises, balance and coordination activities, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound therapies. All these treatments help sick and injured children or adults resume normal functions.

Physical therapy specialists are specifically trained in their fields, and they usually work out of hospitals, fitness centers or rehabilitation centers. There are currently more than 7,000 physicians specializing in rehabilitation and physical therapy aide registered with the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Associations in various states can provide a list of licensed practitioners in any area to start a rehabilitation program with. For millions of people across the world, physical therapy exercise has helped enhance the quality of their lives, and taught them how to live with dignity once again.

College: Thinking Sessions only burn 3 more calories an hour than resting sessions.

Recently, a group of researchers took 14 college students and separated them into three groups to study how thinking affects caloric intake. One group was relaxing, one reading or summarizing text and the third was completing a series of memory, attention, and vigilance tests on the computer in a They determined beforehand that the thinking sessions consumed only three calories more than resting. After the 45 minute session, each group was invited to eat as much as they wanted. More than likely you are studying longer at your college!

Colleges: Thinking changes the glucose levels in your body.

Although the study only included 14 students, the results were bleak. The students that had been working on the computer consumed almost 30% more calories (253 calories) than the resting students, and the students that summarized text consumed 203 more calories. Blood samples taken before, during, and after revealed that intellectual work causes much bigger fluctuations in glucose levels than rest periods, perhaps owing to the stress of thinking. The researchers think that the body reacts to these fluctuations by demanding food to restore glucose, a sugar that is the brain's fuel. Glucose is converted by the body from carbohydrates and is supplied to the brain via the bloodstream. The brain cannot make glucose and so needs a constant supply. Brain cells need twice as much energy as other cells in the body.

College: How can I counteract the calories gained when I study?

Exercise! Working with a personal trainer in is the best way to keep that trim form you started your College with. A personal trainer can should you how best to keep in shape and teach you how to eat properly (moderation). You need exercise to balance the added calories, over eating without the appropriate amount of exercise is not smart. Various studies in animals have shown that consuming fewer calories overall leads to sharper brains and longer life, and most researchers agree that the findings apply, in general, to humans.
