If you get seats that are in the bulkhead you'll find that you have more legroom. This means that you can spread out a bit more with all the extra bags that you always seem to have when you travel with children. The drawback about having one of the seats in the bulkhead is that you won't have any storage room under your seat. This means that all the bags you have spread out in front of you while the plane is in the air will have to be stored in the overhead storage compartments during takeoff and landing.



Window seats are always a good bet for young children, especially those that are flying for the very first time. Looking out the window can keep them occupied and busy during the flight.

If you're traveling with a baby and know that you're going to have to heat up a bottle on more than one occasion then seats near the kitchen area might be your best choice. If there is only a kitchen area at the back of the plane keep in mind that you may be first on the plane, but that you'll also be the last off! If you're going to be anxious to get off the plane you'll want to choose seats that are at the front of the plane, ensuring that you'll be one of the first passengers off the plane.

When you travel with your children on planes you need to be prepared for anything that comes your way, including cranky children that won't settle. Bring along plenty for them to do so that they are kept busy. Books, music tapes, crayons and paper, and travel games are always a good choice.
