Increase in Specialty Camps – Parents can find offerings such as rock music, creative writing, culinary arts, aviation, fencing, science, foreign language, horseback riding, tennis, golf, sports broadcasting, skateboarding, robotics, and even circus arts.
Enrichment Programs For Younger Children - Starting in 4th grade, a child can live at a boarding school or college dorm, eat in a community dining hall, take classes of special interest, participate in recreational activities and take part in organized field trips while they are taking enrichment classes such as Lego engineering and the Science of Superheroes.
Short-term “taste of camp" sessions - For the younger child, camps are offering short, introductory sessions that could last anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks. Even full season camps are offering 2 week sessions to allow parents to fit in a residential camp experience and other activities during the three-month summer break.
Special Needs Camps - Today, many mainstream camps will admit children who are blind or deaf, as well as children with Asperger’s and cerebral palsy. Parents can also find dedicated camps for kids with all sorts of differences, like Prader Willi, Williams Syndrome, Downs Syndrome, and more severe forms of autism.
Kids With Allergies - With the rise in allergies, some camps have moved to a peanut free environment to eliminate the risk completely and there are even gluten-free camps for kids with Celiac disease.
“Matching the right summer program to your child’s interest can help them develop life-long passions," says Ms. Eifler. “Finding the right summer camp for your child can be a major and costly decision. Seek out a camp consultant or do your research online to find the best and most enriching program for your child."

Best Of Summer 2008
If you are looking for a great summer 2008 holiday this year, look no further than Hemsby. This village and resort by the sea is full of things to do and will make you wonder why you've never thought of a Hemsby holiday before! Hemsby has many quaint cottages along with fine hotels that are available for rent during the summer months. Whether you are looking for a place to go after a hard year at college, or a place that you can take the whole family, Hemsby has something for everyone!
One of the main reasons why people choose a Hemsby holiday is because some of the world's most beautiful and most unusual beaches are here. On the beaches of Hemsby, not only have sand dunes been created by nature to divide the sea from the village that lies behind it but there are also many tank-blocks lining the coastline. The tank-blocks have been there ever since World War II and makes for a wonderful sight!
Hemsby is mainly divided into two different parts. The first part is Hemsby Village and the other is Hemsby Beach. Hemsby Village lies approximately one mile away from the beach and is where the many cottages are available that are perfect for your Hemsby holiday! These cottages are great ways to spend your summer 2008 holiday. The cottages are generally equipped with basic items such as television, furniture, nice d'cor, and all utilities. Sometimes they will also have a fenced in backyard or a private patio area. This is a wonderful way to feel at home while you're visiting Hemsby. A lot of locals also live in the Hemsby Village and most cottages have breathtaking views of the beach. The village also has Scroby Sands wind farm that was constructed in 2003. Because this is clearly seen from both the beach and the village, this is another main tourist attraction.
Hemsby Beach is the biggest tourist attraction in Hemsby and it follows Beach Road in the village. This tourist area is very large and stretches from the heart of the village to the waves on the beach. Up the road from the village are many amusement parks that also attract many tourists. The largest of these parks is part of Pontin's, the British holiday company. At the very end of the road, there is MB's Playarea, which offers many different games and arcades. In case you get hungry while at the beach, they also have a bar and a kitchen.
The arcades and games are one of the reasons why Hemsby's so popular. Some of the game rooms that are most visited by tourists are the Sands, Palace Casino, and The Mirage. The number of things to do at the arcades and game rooms are almost endless. You can choose from bowling, bingo, arcade games, or different types of play rooms that will leave everyone having a wonderful time! Another great activity for the whole family is the different fairs and golf courses that can be enjoyed on your Hemsby holiday!
And when you get hungry in Hemsby, there are many different restaurants available. From sit-down meal restaurants to stands that offer fish and chips that you can walk away with, the only trouble you'll have is deciding on what you're in the mood for!
