A survey was conducted to decide the ten most popular fast food joints. Here are the ones that are at the top when people of United States were asked this question:

• 3% Jack in the Box
• 3% Long John Silver's
There was a time way back in the 1999 when McDonalds was the undisputed leader of this kind, but now things have changed. Not only have more joints sprung up there is also a big “anti-McDonalds” sentiment in a lot of health conscious people.
Then there also is a category of people who do not prefer fast foods at all. Though they do eat out occasionally, but fast food isn't on their menu. It is hard to come up with popular restaurants in this category but we can surely tell you about the best ones.
According to the “Restaurant Magazine” chose a list of 50 places worth visiting. These included restaurants, bars and eating joints of various kinds from the world over. The criteria were food, ambiance and service among other things. Here is the list of their ten favorite ones:
1. El Bulli – Spain: This is an exclusive restaurant with only a seating of 50 people. It only opens for dinner between April to December and has received the honor of being world's best restaurant many times.
2. The Fat Duck – UK: They are open between Tuesday and Sunday for lunch (12-2) and dinner (7-9:30). You can choose between the tasting menu and the a la carte menu here.
3. Pierre Gagnaire – France: This restaurant is one of its kind and very unique. It is named after the owner and chef of the place. It is known for its innovative and exotic dishes.
4. The French Laundry – USA: It is open for dinner seven days a week but for lunch only on the weekends. They have two menus that are changed daily.
5. Tetsuya's – Australia: It is open from Tuesdays to Sundays for dinner from 6pm and only on Saturdays for lunch from 12 pm. It is famous for amazing Japanese cuisine.
6. Bras – France: It is known around the world for Gargouillou de Jeunes Légumes which is a vegetable dish and considered the best in the world.
7. Mugaritz – Spain: Known for unique and remarkable duck recopies.
8. Le Louis XV – Monaco: This has a very elaborate and stunning ambiance and that is what gives it a royal touch. The food is tasty yet simple.
9. Per Se – USA: Based on the design of the French Laundry and known for serving some great food.
10. Arzak – Spain: It is a unique restaurant known for its experimental approach towards food.
Best Restaurants In The
There are plenty of great places to enjoy African cuisine and caf? culture in Chicago. Stop off for a hot cuppa in African Coffee on East 79th Street, treat yourself to a tasty snack at Couscous on West Taylor Street, or grab yourself some tasty food and drink at Toham on West Devon Avenue. Alhambra Restaurant on West Randolph Street offers a fine selection of traditional African dishes such as Cumin Crusted Salmon, Chicken Kabob, Kefta Kabob and Lamb Shwama. Don't leave without sampling an Albali or a Doogh, which are delicious yoghurt drinks which are a perfect accompaniment to spicy food. The best neighbourhoods to try African and Middle Eastern inspired cuisine in Chicago are Wrigley, Wicker Park and Uptown.
If you are a fan of Asian cuisine, then you are in for a treat in Chicago. Asian eateries line the streets of areas such as Chinatown, Archer Heights, River North, Uptown, Garfield Park and the South Loop. One particularly good Asian restaurant in Chicago is the Ben Pao Chinese Restaurant on West Illinois Street in River North. Suitable for both adults and children, they have a variety of menus including a lunch menu, a dinner menu, a children's menu and even a gluten free menu for those who want, or need, to keep wheat products out of their diet.
From wallet-friendly Mexican fast food diners to the finest in Mexican dining, there are plenty of places to try Mexican food in Chicago. Families on a budget should check out the Nuevo Leon Restaurant in the Pilsen district. They are particularly renowned locally for their fajitas and carne asadas. Diners looking for the finest in Mexican food, with no expense spared, should check out Salpicon on North Wells Street in the Old Town. If you can, try and visit on a Sunday so that you can try some of their Chilaquiles Rojos, as it has to be tasted to be believed.
There are also several restaurants owned by celebrity chefs in Chicago. Celebrity super-chef Grant Achatz has a restaurant known as Alinea, which specialises in contemporary American cuisine made with esoteric, high quality ingredients and served with panache. The average price per head for dinner is around $200, which is quite expensive when compared to some restaurants, but you definitely get what you pay for in here.
If you have even deeper pockets, you might want to try Charlie Trotter's on West Armitage Avenue, one of the most celebrated restaurants in the country, and certainly Chicago. The food is absolutely delicious, and the dining experience is peerless, so if you can afford an average price of around $240 per person, you should not leave the windy city without popping in here for dinner.
