Birthday Party Planning Checklist

    View:
1 month before the birthday party

Set a realistic budget – a small budget doesn't mean a dull party. It just means you have to be more creative.

Pick your party date – avoid party dates on holidays and vacation dates because some of the invited friends may be out of town

Select a party theme – popular party themes are beach, Hawaii, popular movies

Make your guest list – the size of your guest list should be limited by your budget and the location of the party. If your house can only accommodate 30 people don't invite a 100 people.

Purchase party supplies, party favors, and decorations.

2-3 weeks before your party

Purchase your party invitations and mail them. - If your guests have e-mail, you may be able to save a tree and go digital. Just e-mail your invitations to your guests.

Collect party game ideas – keep in mind your guests. If you are inviting kids to your party, your games should be different than games for grown ups. Have a selection of games available not just one. Some games may work better with some than others.

Plan what kind of food will you be serving. – If you have a limited budget, you could have a potluck party. A potluck party gives your guests a chance to shine by bringing their own special food creations.

If you need help with preparation ask friends and family.

1 week before the party

Order the birthday party cake – if you bake your own cake, you don't need to worry about this.

You can save time by cooking food in advance and keeping it in the freezer until the day of the party.

2-3 days before the party

Make sure you have film in the camera or that you have enough batteries for the digital camera

Try to get an exact guest count – contact key people and confirm that they will be able to make it to the party.

Get decorations ready and make sure you have everything you need.

1 day before the party

Get a good night's sleep – parties are fun but they require a lot of work and you have to be strong

Decorate and prepare the food.

Make sure the party area is safe for all – keep children and people with disabilities in mind.

The Big Day - Party Time!

Get the balloons ready

Prepare foods ready

Make sure you take pictures – if you are busy put a friend in charge of taking pictures and making the video.

Enjoy, relax and have fun! You have worked hard to create a special time for you and your guests.
Birthday Party Planning Checklist
Your boy's birth day is around the corner and you are planning it to be grand. Following is a birthday party checklist of items to buy when getting ready for your baby's birthday party.

4 Weeks before the Birthday Party

* Determine the date, time and location of the birthday party. * Allow the birthday child to give a helping hand by letting them select the theme. Themes may range from a favorite character to their favorite activities (e.g. zoo, bouncy house, or famous landmarks) or time of year (e.g. a summertime luau theme for seasonal party).

Things To Do 3 Weeks Before The Party

* Create the invited guests list. * Choose if you will need to organize for party planners depending on on the size of the invited guests list. * Mail the invitations. * Choose the party activities, such as a scavenger hunt or a piata to make it easy for all present to join in on the fun. * Plan the decorations. Plan for a welcome sign and decorated streamers. This is a wonderful activity for the birthday child to assist with the night before the d-day. * prepare the menu. Will it come at a time where you will have to serve pizza or chicken fingers for lunch, for example? Or, will it be held at a time where a snack may be served? Are you hosting the event off-site? If so, does the venue provide special needs regarding food? * Ascertain the party Gifts. Character-themed packs are a perfect add-ons to a themed-party, but sometimes not necessary. at times seasonal bags offer a reasonable change, for example a bucket (which represent the party bag) filled with a shovel, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, or other items for a birthday party.

Birthday Party Checklist - 1 to 2 weeks Before The Party

* Get the special birthday gift for the birthday boy or girl! * Buy the party items, decorations and presents. * Get the birthday cake (unless you plan to bake it yourself) and the birthday balloons.

Birthday Party Checklist - 1 to 2 Days Before The Party

* Determine an specific invitees count by calling those that have not replied your invitation. * Prepare the party food. * Beautify the venue and arrange for all activities and games. * Get the cake, helium balloons and whatever pending materials.

What To Do On The Day Of The Birthday Party

* Position the food, plates, napkins, juice boxes, etc., or order the food, such as pizza, as convenient as possible. * Place the birthday gift of the birthday child in a place to serve as a precedent for where guests should put their gifts. * Place the bags in a place where you will be able to remember to dole them out to invitees once the event is over. * Ensure that your camera is not too far from you! If you think you will be busy monitoring food and other events, assign a good friend or family member to be in charge of photos of the party or videotape it.

Above all, do not forget that this event is being held to celebrate your child. Don't panic if you end up one juice box short, or if things goes abnormal with one of the proposed activities. Once the program commence, relax and encourage the joy on your child's face.

The right birthday party checklist will guide you safely to a successful planning and organizing your anticipated party.
