Black Mold Exposure Symptoms

    View:
Molds are everywhere; they are indispensable for this earth. Molds and mildews grow on biodegradable products and decompose them to simpler organic materials, and thus keep the energy cycle and nitrogen chain going uninterruptedly.

Earth without molds won't be a place worth living! They are essential for ecosystem. Unfortunately such important member of environment is not good for human health. Exposure to toxic black molds results in various troubles.

The best way get rid of black molds is to avoid exposure as much as possible. For this, one needs to know how exposure to mold can happen in our day to day activities. Here is a list that describes possible ways of getting exposed to toxic black molds.

How one can get exposed to mold?

Molds are everywhere. However, when black mold starts growing inside your home, density of aerosolized mold spores and mold parts become higher. Chances of inhaling tiny mold spores and hyphal fragments also become higher.

Mold spores are the reproductive units of molds and mildews. They are released in air and spread with air current and physical objects. Filament-like part of mold body, also known as hypha, gets disintegrated from the mold colony due to external disturbance and become air-borne.

These are allergens. Individuals unknowingly breathe in moldy air and these invisible particles enter into human system; all health issues begin from there.

The primary cause of exposure to molds and mildews is inhalation undoubtedly. A musty odor often accompanies mold growth. This helps people sense possible mold growth around. As soon as you get the musty odor, become alert. Take all possible measures to avoid inhaling mold spores and hyphal fragments.

Another way of getting exposed to toxic black molds and mildews is by direct contact. When molds invade your home, they can grow on any substance ? clothes, carpets, wooden furniture, leather jackets, fabrics, curtains, wallpapers, walls around the sink, bathroom and many others. If you are not aware of mold growth, chances are you would touch moldy substances during your daily activities and get infected.

The third way of getting infected with toxic molds is through food and beverages. Some mold species grow on food and spoil them. The toxic matters produced by molds make the food smell bad. However, people may ingest mold infested food which may lead to stomach problem, diarrhea and food poison.

The musty odor and the pungent smell of moldy food help people sense infestation of molds. Black mold killer must be used to avoid exposure to toxic black molds.

Once you are aware of the possible ways of mold infection, you need to stay alert. However, that is not enough. Once you sense the presence of toxic black molds in your home, you need to kill molds.

How to kill molds?

The first phase of mold removal process is to pinpoint the exact location of mold infection. That can be done by practicing mold testing process. Mold testing and sampling helps you find out the following things:

* Place of mold infection

* Type of mold infection

* Severity of the infection

With the above findings, you should conduct a through mold cleaning action. Organic mold cleaning products, made of natural substances, are effective. Look for mold cleaning products in your community store or online.
Black Mold Exposure Symptoms
If you notice your child having any trouble with his or her respiratory system and cannot seem to find the cause, checking your household for mold growth might be a good idea.

The symptoms of mold exposure are typically very similar to allergy symptoms, so you may initially mistake them for the symptoms of the child's allergies. Your child's pediatrician may claim that it is just seasonal allergies, but in reality, it may be your home that has the issue.

Persistent respiratory symptoms like sneezing, hoarseness, rhinitis, eye irritation, and blocked noses can occur as well as dry coughing, productive coughing, and sometimes wheezing.

Skin symptoms such as itching and redness also tend to arise in certain uncovered areas of the body, which suggests that the child has touched the growth.

Other symptoms like fever, joint pain, headaches, and excessive tiredness have also been reported. Your child also may show an intolerance to certain foods like mushrooms, bread, and cheeses, while older members of your household may show intolerance to things like wine and beer.

Children that are in high-exposure mold conditions such as where the toxic mold Stachybotrys are concerned can exhibit things such as hemoptysis and nose bleeds.

Children in homes containing mold may also show more intolerance to things like cigarette smoke or household chemicals that emit vapors into the air.

If your child does not have any known allergies and they are showing these symptoms with no readily apparent cause, have your home tested for mold by hiring a professional or performing a do it yourself test.

If your home does have mold growth, your child needs to be removed from the area as soon as possible and relocated until the growth is removed.

You should realize that even dead mold growth can cause allergic reactions and that until it is removed, your child's health is at significant risk.

Any items in your home that have become moldy, especially if it is children's toys such as stuffed animals or bedding, will need to be thrown away. Do not allow children to play with items that have been exposed to flood waters or mold growth.
