Board games can often be considered something which children all over the world delight in, but this isn't necessarily the case. A great number of board games can be just as fun for adults as for youngsters and a number of these board games are actually marketed for adults only. While games with higher concepts can often be mastered easily by younger children, there are a few games out there which should probably not be played by children due to their content.
One of these games is a simple word game called Dirty Minds. With this game, players use cards with words on them to try and guess what the mystery word is. Each card contains the mystery word along with a series of 3 clues to help the players solve the word. The points earned by the player who correctly guesses the word are determined by how many clues are revealed. If the player can guess the word after the first clue, they will earn more points than if they needed 2 clues and solving the clues after 2 will earn you more points than if you needed all 3 clues.
The trick of this game comes, however, in the fact that all the clues lead one to believe that the mystery word is actually something dirty. Clues will make one think that the word is something naughty, distasteful, or crude. The clues actually make sense for something completely ordinary or normal, but with the "Dirty Minds" that people have, their brains will automatically jump to something much more perverse. The game can actually be quite fun with a large group of loud personalities but is certainly something which should not be played with children around.
Another game which is more suited for adults is the Battle of the Sexes game. This game isn't so much inappropriate for children as that it is not geared to them, as questions will be posed which may be beyond the scope or range of the children playing them. This game divides the players up into teams of the men and the women. Questions are then divided into these two groups. The feminine questions generally are more focused on different foods, clothes, and household items while the masculine questions will focus on topics such as automobiles, sports, and tools.
The point of the game is to find the team which can answer more questions about the topics of the other team. For example, the women who can answer more questions about masculine things will win the game over the men who cannot answer more questions about the feminine products. This game, unlike Dirty Minds, isn't as suited for children simply because most of the questions which are posed are simply out of the range of the children who might be playing the game. While it is true that an especially adept child could do well with the game, it is still suited toward groups of adults and will probably be more enjoyed within this age range.
