Colon cleansing is beneficial for everyone. It is one of the best possible ways to be healthy and active in this polluted environment. We humans aren't really immune to the environmental toxins and the more we get toxic, the faster we tend to age. Our system is mostly overburdened by the highly processed foods, the rigorously unbalanced diet and the contaminated environment. This leads to a dormant system which further encourages the building up of toxins. Also, not to forget that the body's natural cleansing process and the oxygen cycle as well as the vital nutrients depend largely on exercise. Exercise prevents the toxins from building up.

Detoxification can be achieved in various ways, but it is always safe to opt for the natural method. A fiber enriched diet and lots of water is a must for everyone. Make this a regular practice and you would not need a detox supplement ever. Using oxygen-based products is another method. If you want to increase the effectiveness of other methods, you may use oxygen based products. However, you need to consult your doctor first if you want to take more than one product or use more than one method to cleanse your colon. Oxygen based products are scientifically formulated with magnesium and oxygen. They do work, but slowly as stool is liquefied and eliminated.
What you eat can affect how dirty your colon will get. There are foods that help cleanse your colon and other foods that worsen its condition. Fasting is often recommended to cleanse the colon, and this includes going on a liquid only diet for a number of weeks or consuming only fruit and/or vegetable juices.
These are also great ways to lose weight. However effective fasting is, it is still considered very inconvenient to some people, as it has very strict requirements that may be very difficult to follow. Generally, foods that are good for your colon are those high in fiber. You should eat more vegetables and drink lots of fresh juices and water. Great foods for your colon include bran cereals and multigrain breads.
Of course, don't just sit all day and expect to cleanse your colon effectively. As with many other methods to keep healthy, you should couple your diet and/or supplements with an exercise regimen. Good exercises for an effective colon cleanse include jogging, swimming, bicycling, walking, using the trampoline, stomach exercises and twisting exercises.
