As all of you know, I'm committed to seeing you through this Holiday Season with less body fat and more muscle! You can do this. This is no TIME for excuses, you can be a turkey just not a FAT one! You know what they do with nice plump turkeys right?
This can be the strongest time of year to keep your committement to exercisng and getting leaner.
Why is that? Well, consider this: if you can actually progress between now and January 1, 2007, just think what you can do in the New Year! Imagine the confidence you would have walking into 2007 with a better body rather than entering the new year with more fat, less energy, and a "blah" attitude.
Let's get started with my favorite Turkey Day Survival Tips...
Low Carbs- Day Before
Just reduce your calories to about half your normal intake the day before a larger meal can work wonders. This way you will balance things out over two days. Just be sure to eat frequently on the low-cal day so you don't slow down your metabolism.
Low Carbs- Day After
Reduce your carbs to about 50 grams the day after your holiday meal. Yes, that means no leftovers (I'll get to that in a second.) This will help your insulin levels return to normal, and get your fat-burning kicked off again after the feast. Be sure to get all of your carbs from veggies on this day.
Be Charitable- Give Away Your Leftovers
Instead of making Aunt Ruth feel bad about not taking a ton of food home with you, go ahead and accept her hospitalityand then give it away to people without food that very same day. These folks are pretty easy to find if you live in a big city. If not, a few phone calls to half-way houses will be all you'll need to do in order to really make someone's holiday very special. This also will save you from the temptation of having a ton of bad food around the house!
Lean Protein- Keep It High And Enjoy It.
Be sure to chow lots of turkey. Turkey is one of the best foods you can eat. But be aware most of the fat in turkey is within the skin and most of the fat within the meat is in the dark meat. The white meat with the skin removed is a good food source for people on low-fat and/or low sodium diets. The meat fiber is easier to digest than other types of meat, which makes it a good choice for individuals that may have digestive problems. Turkey is an excellent source of several important vitamins and nutrients such as iron, niacin, zinc, potassium, and B vitamins.
So remember, keep the carb foods low to moderate. Spread them out over the day so you don't eat too much all at once as well.
Drink Water- The More The Merrier
Drink about a quart of water prior to going to your festivities, and at least that much during and after. This will help flush the toxins through your system, and it will actually make you less hungry.
Jut One Dessert Serving
Is it REALLY that much to ask? Enjoy a nice dessert after your protein-rich meal, but pass on the seconds. Remember, it's not the last time you'll ever eat pie... : )
Walk It Off
Research shows that a 45-minute brisk walk after eating a high-fat meal can reverse the damage done to your arteries. Obviously it will help you feel better as well, and it improves digestion. Use this as a "family time" activity. Suggest a walk around a mall, or perhaps the town centre or neighborhood. Enjoy the time, and get more fit, all at the same time.
Well there it is. Print this out and put it on your refrigerator as a reminder and have a GREAT Thanksgiving.

Build Muscle And Burn Fat
But first, let me ask, are you taking a step forward, each and every day, going after what you want to achieve?
Or are you a member of the "I want it now but don't want to work for it" club, simply sitting back waiting for things to come to you?
It's no secret that life rewards action. If you sit back and wait for things to come to you, I hope you have a lot of time to wait. The true power to reach your bodybuilding goals is your ability to consistently take action each and every day.
And that, my friend, is the fastest way to build muscle and burn fat. You take action.
In fact, can you imagine how much closer to your muscle building goals you'd be if you simply resolved to do ONE thing each and every day that would bring you closer to that goal.
Good things would start adding up quickly, and like the snowball that keeps getting bigger while rolling down the snowy hill, you too would find your muscles getting bigger.
Successful people are not necessarily those that make the right decisions all of the time. But they do make decisions and better yet, act upon them.
If what they do doesn't work the first time, they simply try something else until they get their desired result.
What amazes me is the number of people I see and talk to that are not happy with their current physique or muscularity, yet they keep doing the same things over and over again, expecting different results!
Thomas Jefferson once wrote "I'm a firm believer in luck, and I've found the harder I work, the luckier I get."
Well, the same is true when trying to build muscle and burn fat. How hard do you work for the things you seek? Do you take some form of action each day and go after them?
Do you get in the car and drive to the gym in the snow when you could just grab some cocoa and sit in and watch a movie?
Do you slam a protein shake when you're done your muscle-blasting workout or do you just wait a few hours for dinner?
Do you do an intense cardio session when it would be far easier to sit on the couch?
The great thing about taking action each and every day towards a specific bodybuilding goal is, sooner or later, the momentum you build is overwhelming and you find yourself closer to your goal than ever expected.
It was once said that "Good things come to those who wait, but it's the leftovers from those who hustle."
I would like to challenge you for two weeks.
Each and every day for two straight weeks, do something, anything, that brings you closer to whatever fitness goal you may have. Take some form of action every single day.
Whether you want to build muscle mass, lose stubborn body fat, or increase your strength and energy, you need to take some form of action every single day.
And whether you're beginning an exercise program or consider yourself advanced, sit down, go over what you are looking to achieve, and then plot out specific steps you need to take to accomplish these goals.
Then get acting on them. You'll find that the more you act on things, the more good things happen.
The great thing about taking action towards a specific goal each and every day is that the Law of Momentum will start to take hold.
Meaning, a body in motion tends to remain in motion unless acted upon by some outside force.
The flip side, of course, is a body at rest tends to remain at rest unless acted upon by some outside force.
Accept the challenge, do one or more things every day for the next two weeks that will move you closer to a specific goal you have and see how the Law of Momentum starts to take effect in your life.
Whether you realize it or not...you have chosen to be where you are.
Success is easy - if you work hard, consistently follow your plan, stay committed and determined, and don't give up until you have what you want.
Take me up on my challenge and you'll soon see that the fastest way to build muscle and burn fat is to take consistent action every day.
