Golf is one of the few ball games that does not use a standardized playing area; rather, the game is played on golf "courses," each one of which has a unique design and typically consists of either 9 or 18 separate holes. Golf is a game that is variously considered a pastime, recreation, sport, profession, religion or an obsession. Golf is defined in the Rules of Golf as playing a ball with a club from the teeing ground into the hole by a stroke or successive strokes in accordance with the Rules.

Golf courses have developed in both Spain and Portugal, particularly in coastal areas. Traditionally, a golf hole is either a par-three, -four or -five; some par-six holes exist, but are not usually found on traditional golf courses. Golf competition may be played as stroke play, in which the individual with the lowest number of strokes is declared the winner, or as match play with the winner determined by whichever individual or team posts the lower score on the most individual holes during a complete round.

Some Golf Equipment:

1. The Golf Ball: To find a golf ball is one of the prime equipment in this sport.

4. Flop Shot is when a player uses a very open club like a Lob Wedge to get the ball high very quickly over an obstacle or to get the ball to stop quickly when it hits the ground.

Some Golf Playing Tips:

1. By Gaining an edge on the mental aspects of the game, will find yourself playing better golf in no time.

3. Try to avoid playing many times per week or limit it to 9 holes.

4 The golf swing has a very unnatural feel to it and therefore must be practiced in order to allow it to begin to feel natural.

Some Do's And Don't's In Playing Golf:

1. Do play more break on downhill putts and less on uphill putts.

2. Do take the final 'gimme' putt, don't pick your ball up when it is near the hole and assume you put it.

3. Do try practice putting with your eyes closed, it amazing how it works without the eyes confusing matters.

4. Don't be afraid to pass on golf outings that usually double the price of playing unless the purpose of the outing has meaning for you personally.

Golf as we understand it originated in Scotland, although it is probable that ancestor games to modern golf originated on the Continent. Golf originated at Saint Andrews, in Scotland. Golf is defined in the Rules of Golf as "playing a ball with a club from the teeing ground into the hole by a stroke or successive strokes in accordance with the Rules.

Golf courses can be built on sandy areas along coasts, abandoned farms, strip mines and quarries, deserts and forests. Although golf is a minor issue compared to other land-ethics questions, it has symbolic importance as it is a sport normally associated with the wealthier Westernized population, and the culture of colonization and globalization of non-native land ethics. Golf competition may be played as stroke play, in which the individual with the lowest number of strokes is declared the winner, or as match play with the winner determined by whichever individual or team posts the lower score on the most individual holes during a complete round.
