Remember this: Car Insurance will not take full responsibility of your carelessness. No matter what car insurance agents say to convince you to buy insurance, do not ever make the assumption that your car insurance company will pay for everything that you will have to spend on in times of accidents and the like. You will simply share the burden with them. So then, why do you still need to buy car insurance? Why does your state require you to even have one? How will you "share the burden" with the car insurance company?
If you are going to buy car insurance, it would only be fair for your company to tell you the important facts. One of the important facts that you must know is that they will not cover everything that you have to pay. There is such a thing called "deductible" that is included in the policy. Deductible refers to the amount of money that you have to pay according to your insurance policy. This amount ranges from $100-$1000. The laws of your State will determine the amount of your deductible. To fully picture a deductible, imagine that you accidentally drove your car into your neighbor's fence. Your neighbor will of course demand that you replace the fence. The amount of the replacement of the fence all in all is $1500 and your deductible is $250. You will pay $250 and the rest will be paid by your insurance company.
Now that you understand what a deductible is, you must internalize that choosing your deductible is also important. Consider your financial capacity, would you be willing to pay for more than a than a hundred dollars? Will it be okay with you to have a cheap deductible but less coverage? Would you be willing to pay a higher deductible in exchange of paying for lower premium? How often do you think will you get into a car accident? How dangerous is your neighborhood or how at risk is your car of getting stolen or vandalized? Consider each answer you have for this in order to decide how much of a deductible you will be willing to pay for.
If you own a car and you drive it regularly then you certainly need car insurance. Why? First of all, your State requires you too. Secondly, it is your responsibility to ensure that if you caused an accident, you will be able to help in the costs of whatever damages or injuries you have incurred. Third, think about yourself. You will have to make sure that you are covered in cases of accidents. As mentioned, you will not always have thousands of dollars in your pocket every time you need it so saving money for when you need it through insurance will save you a great deal of trouble.
Car insurance is enshrined in the law because the State recognizes the need for people to be prepared in times of accidents. It teaches people to be responsible for their own sake and for others' sakes too. It serves as a deterrent for drivers who have a huge tendency to be reckless. In short, owning something always comes with a responsibility so if you are willing to own a car, you should also be willing to take the responsibility of buying car insurance.
Car Insurance No Deposit
Car insurance seems to keep on going up and up in price, and it seems like it is two or three times a year that you get a letter from the insurance agency that says something like: ?starting on the first day of your next billing cycle, your car insurance premium is going to increase by 15%.? You've probably not gotten a letter from them thanking you for not getting into an accident in seven years and not getting a speeding ticket since you were 19. In fact, they've probably never lowered your car insurance premiums.
Car insurance doesn't always have to go up, in fact, there are still ways to get a cheap car insurance that is going to make you feel safe when you are on the road. The first step to getting a new agent is to go out there and get several car insurance quotes. These quotes should be based on the same amount of insurance that you currently have, so that you will be able to compare the prices. While you are at it, ask your current car insurance company to give you some current quotes as well, because you may find out that their prices have gone down for new customers, and you are just paying too much.
After you have collected all of your car insurance quotes, you are on your way to finding cheap car insurance. The next step is to go back to your current car insurance company and show them the rates that you have collected. If they know anything about loyalty, they will want to keep such a good driver as their customer. A lot of agents are going to match the prices of the cheap car insurance company and are going to give you the same price (or a lower one). If they don't, you have the choice to either stay or go.
A lot of times, you can get your car insurance adjusted just by letting time pass. If you haven't been in an accident in a while, or have a clean driving record with no points on your license and no unpaid parking tickets, you should be able to bargain and get a better deal. Also, if you have an older car that is worth less money, you may want to consider adjusting your insurance amounts, so that you aren't paying to insure a brand new car anymore.
Getting cheap car insurance is going to take a couple hours of your time, but in the long run it is going to be worth it. Just think, if it takes you one hour to get each of the 10 car insurance quotes that you get, and you normally make $8 an hour, it cost you around $80 to get those quotes. If you save $25 a month on your new car insurance, by the end of the third month you have nearly paid off all of that money, and by the end of the forth month, you have already saved $20. With car insurance, a little hard work will pay off, especially if you are a good driver who is looking for a deal.
