Cellulite: Now You See It, Now You Dont

Cellulite is the result of poor skin structure which causes the fibers to split. This means fat and toxins squish through the holes in the fibers, creating the lumpy effect. It's like having a mattress with the stuffing sticking out! Chances are the problem is genetic. As women, we have to do as much as we can to reduce the appearance of cellulite both before and after it appears on our body.



Strengthening the skin fibers, plumping up the skin's surface, and breaking down the stubborn fat and toxin deposits can help minimize the appearance of cellulite. Here are the top techniques you can use to rejuvenate your skin's appearance for the "now you see it, now you don't" tricks.

At-Home Endermologie

You can always try massage, and it does increase circulation to the areas filled with fat and toxins to help release them, but there is a better way. Endermologie is the only approved treatment for cellulite. However, if you prefer to save your money instead of getting endermologie treatments at a spa, here's how.

Instead of massaging, you will be kneading the cellulite areas to help break down toxins and fat. You will need rollers to super squish and squash the skin. Of course, the pressure used at a spa or salon will be stronger, but you can still improve your cellulite on your own. Use a moisturizer, cellulite cream, or a detoxifying *massage oil. (Using a moisturizing body lotion daily will give you plumped-out skin which shows less cellulite than dehydrated skin.) Spend 5 to 10 minutes on each area rubbing, rolling, and pressing on the cellulite. For soft cellulite, firmly grip the tissue lifting it away from the muscle below. Use a twisting and kneading motion deeply to bring the circulation back. For firm cellulite that is hard to lift away, rub vigorously with the roller or with your knuckles while making a fist. A cellulite massage may feel slightly to somewhat painful. Take care to avoid bruising, but don't be afraid to massage firmly. You will see improvement in one to three months if you combine this regime with a proper diet.

Diet

Many different eating plans claim to beat cellulite, but there's no miracle cure. Instead, the best anti-cellulite diet is filled with fruits and vegetables. They fill or plump the body with water to fill in the spaces, but more importantly, they contain essential skin-firming nutrients. They are low in fat, and only about 25 percent of your daily calories should come from fat. Fruits and vegetables are also low in toxins like alcohol and nicotine. This diet will also keep your skin from becoming dehydrated and looking dry which only accentuates cellulite. You should also drink at least two quarts of herbal teas, diluted fruit juices, or distilled water daily.

Exercise

For best results do thirty to sixty minutes of aerobic exercise 5 to 6 times a week. You will burn excess fat that can cause cellulite and you will increase blood flow to the surface of the skin to plump it. Weights also help as they firm the muscles under the skin, which helps disguise cellulite. Most people will see an improvement in 6 to 12 weeks. You will like what you see and you will feel revitalized.

Creme

Look for phosphodiesterase inhibitors as a main ingredient if you opt for cellulite creme. These inhibitors stop the production of the enzyme that leads to fat storage in the body and this causes the dimples to shrink. Use this creme two hours after eating or one hour before. Your body will only burn fat this way when there is none floating in the bloodstream.

Sunscreen

If you protect your skin from the sun, you will conserve collagen and elastin levels which keep cellulite under control. Be consistent with protecting yourself with sunscreen which also serves as a moisturizer.

Fake Tan

The darker your skin, the less noticeable cellulite will be. The shadows caused by the dimpling will be less obvious.

Don't regret the appearance of cellulite. Take steps to reduce it and rejuvenate yourself at the same time. Look and feel your best.
