The Sun is given the most credit when it comes to the zodiac. It is the information people give out when someone else asks "what's your sign?" But the other planets of the zodiac have importance that shouldn't be thrown away. Mercury influences how a person thinks and how that is portrayed to the outside world. Learning, communication and expression are all housed here. It also dictates whether a person moves through life with a strong sense of direction or a tendency to detour.



A person who has their Mercury in Gemini has a quick, logical mind. They like facts and use them to create an unbiased analysis of any given situation. They are casually eloquent speakers and can speak quickly while keeping an audience engaged. Teachers- especially those of mathematics or language- and great politicians often have this sign. They are likely to win any debate they participate in through their rationality- even if their opponent has more facts on their side. This person just seems to know what they are talking about more so than anyone else around them. And, nine times out of ten, they actually do know more than anyone else around them.

An intense curiosity in a wide range of subjects often makes them a jack of all trades, master of none. But the things they do learn are stored away deep in their mind for possible use later on. These people are remarkably good at making connections and deductions that others can not see. The mind of this person is able to work so quickly that it appears to be genius to others. The downside of this aspect is that the mind always works at full throttle, even when the person is trying to relax. Because of this there can be a certain air of restlessness that surrounds them. It is hard for those with their Mercury in Gemini to turn off their ability to feel what is happening in their environment. An excess of activity, stress or obstacles can push this person into a near (or actual) breakdown. Insomnia, anxiety and other physical disorders that can stem from stress are common with this sign. They can become irritated, moody and mentally confused. If they are able to keep themselves from being spread too thin, these problems can be avoided. But that is often a task that is easier said than done.

It isn't that these people are more or less determined to accomplish goals than the other signs. They merely have a spectacular ability to predict what problems are going to arise and are therefore already a step closer to solving them when they get to that point in the path. Their mind is their greatest tool in this world and its capabilities are what make it possible for this person to excel, succeed and leave others in their wake.
