Chenab Valley

    View:
The River Chenab originates in the Kulu and Kangra districts of the Himachal Pardesh province of India. The two chief streams of the Chenab - the Chandra and the Bhaga - rise on opposite sides of Baralcha pass at an elevation of about 16,000 feet. These join at Tandi in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, nearly 9,090 feet above mean sea level. Fed by innumerable tributaries on the long

journey from its headwaters, the river gains immense power and momentum on entering the Jammu andKashmir region above Kishtwar.

From Kishtwar to Thathri (about 50 km) the Chenab runs through class V and VI gorges. The combined streams, traversing about 135 miles, take a sharp turn along Pir Panjal near Kishtwar. The Chenab then flows along the northern base of the Pir Panjal range before entering the Doda area of Jammu and Kashmir. It cuts across this range through a spectacular gorge and then flows along its southern base, before flowing southwards and entering the plains. After traversing about 400 miles of mountainous regions and flowing at nearly 39 feet per mile, the Chenab opens out into the plains near Akhnur. It enters Pakistan through the Sialkot district, near Diawara Village.

chenab acronymized a persian derivation Moon(Chen) and Aab (water) is formed by the confluence of the Chandra and Bhaga rivers at Tandi located in the upper Himalayas in the Lahul and Spiti District of Himachal Pradesh, India. chenab river finds its origin in Nilamatapurana as nectar clear holy river having its imminence of originality from higher reaches (chandrabhaga) confluencing chandra (Moon) with Bhaga (virtue or luck) at Atholi, some 65kms from krishna and as such emanated its name as chandrabhaga the river chenab.

Taking its origin from lahul spiti, the best place for India holidays chenab river sweeps down gorgeously and serpentingly taking twists and turns on sharp bends sometimes too narrow and too deep and at places oftenly with broader widths all along the underlying bed rocks of sub Himalayan Precambrian region relatively unchangeable in its entire toute. The river, defacto, laps Pangi valley (HP), downbelow Dharwas, Padder, Bhanderkote, Marwah, Warwan, Nun/Kun peaks adjoining zanskar and thence gushes down with fiery foaming flames of water .Joins Siraj of Doda district and flowing down Ramban confluencing, enroute, the small rivers, rivulets, streams and small Nallahs viz. Kalani, kalguni, Bhalassa,Neru and unaccountable those which come in its way till chenab vaingloringly reaches Akhnoor.

On the either side of pride chenab exists the lush green, vibrant and salubrious mountains, cliffs and other uplands, the most enhanting and bewildering multihued Pines,Quercuses atoped by ever green flowery and honey dewed meadows. This is what else than bountiful natural beauty though, as yet hidden treasure trove folded alike and cocooned and beyond all ambiguousness are quite matching Kashmir valley a heaven on earth .

Chinta Valley:-The word chinta means worry and a lush green, vibrant bountiful of Nature's glory though, of course, open and opaque is the chinta valley of Bhaderwah which undoubtedly is nothing less that any place on earth.Surrounded all around echoes a natural message from Gods and Goddesses in the devine houses for the preservation of environment, its flora and fauna.

Kishtwar:- Nestling amongst high mountainous and cliffy terrain, off shooting high where skies are the limits, it is most prominent township called kishtwar and a land of Mosques, Dargah, Masjids and Zirarats where spirituality attunes the skies resting aside castes, creed and colours and above all religions, it is here, that is Kishtwar.Where devine shakties of Mata Sarthal Devi, Chandi Mata abodes world renowned sapphire mines of padder, it is kishtwar where Ruby Gems on mountainous slopes glows and glitters and marble of Thathri twinkle amidest dense, vibrant, lushgreen uplands it is here that is kishtwar.

And all these places are in the lap of Pride Chenab Valley the most enchanting, bewitching and bewildering on the crowned paradise of India in Jammu and Kashmir. An aerial view of Patnitop, Batote, Sanasar, Chanderkote, Ramban, Banihal, Desa, Siraj, Marmat, Chinta, JaiNalthi, Hanga, Bhalessa, Inderwal, Atholi, Machail, Dacchan, Marwah,Warman, Padder, Pogul and Kishtwar high altitude national Park-some 250 kms is a home to many Kaleidoscopic rare animals and birds gives a panoramic picture of river chenab.
