Children With Learning Disabilities

    View:
Just as it is important for the child to learn, it is important for the teacher to know that they are actually getting through to the children. This means that the teacher will continue to see children learning in their classroom because they are encouraged by the look of realization that moves across the faces of children when they ?get? something. But learning doesn't happen only in the classroom. It happens at home as well through parents who are concerned about making sure their child gets the best education possible. There are various concerns that exist in classrooms today such as teachers who may not be qualified to teach a particular area, class sizes that are too large to allow for individual assistance, and then, sadly enough, there are those teachers that are filling a space in a classroom because, although not qualified, they may have been the most qualified for the position. These factors can be offset a bit by doing certain things at home.These things include reading to your child and encouraging them to read to you. Making special trips to the library and checking out books that interest your child can give them a good reading experience. You can also write fun notes to each other to encourage writing in order to promote the development of writing skills and you can further encourage writing by giving your child fun writing projects that both of you can enjoy. You can provide positive feedback and encourage developing a sequential storyline. Chances are this is going to teach the child patience with themselves and how to place events in a sequential order.You can find books in the library promoting reading and writing skills as well as books that make math, science, and history fun instead of boring. Many children learning subjects they think they will never need believe these subjects to be boring, so what they must be taught is that these subjects are actually fun and necessary. Many adults went through school as children thinking that they didn't need to learn a subject such as history only to find out that they should've paid better attention to the teacher in school. The same goes for science. There is something scientific in everything, but due to the lack of interesting presentation, kids find subjects such as science and math to be a burden rather than a necessity.Basically, all aspects of education are important and even if a child feels that they will not use what teachers are teaching to them, they may find out later in life that they really do need those things and will be looking up on the internet what they didn't pay attention to in class. It is amazing how many areas of life certain subjects such as grammar, science, math, and social studies can come in handy. Even if children will not use some of these things in their lives as adults, chances are that their own children may encounter the same materials. Through aiding in the education of your children you are ensuring your children play a proactive role in the education of their own children. So what it comes down to is that the more proactive each generation is in the education of the next, the better off they will be when they are grown and the better off future generations will be.

Children With Learning Disabilities
Generally young children who enjoy educational activities such as reading, coloring, crafts and word games also enjoy playing the piano. One reason is because they enjoy doing things with their hands. Did you know that there are games and activities available like this for young children that will give them a musical foundation as well? If you plan to give your young child piano lessons or if your child is taking piano lessons they can benefit greatly from musical games and activities at home. There are many foundational keyboard abilities children can learn at home while having fun that will give them a musical head start in piano.

*Learning the musical alphabet in a variety of ways

*Drawing and Visualizing the Piano Keyboard

*Learning to use their hands at the piano

*Learning keyboard theory concepts for note reading

*Visualizing five-finger hand positions and finger numbers

*Learning music is an enriching experience. It is said to not only broaden a child's imagination, but also stimulates the child's mind, developing the child's IQ.

This knowledge is not difficult to give your children at home. All you need are the right resources and of course a keyboard. You'll be giving your child musical values and educational opportunities that will prepare them for a positive future of learning. Piano lessons also help children learn

? key reading and math skills;

? how to set goals to achieve their dreams; and

? the need for self discipline and persistence; and

? how to take responsibility for their success.

Most parents choose the piano as the instrument for their child to begin their serious music education on. Why the popular view that the piano is a more accessible beginner instrument, as compared to other musical instruments? Actually the sitting position while playing the piano is very comfortable. The player does not need to support the instrument, as compared to the neck-position one has to assume in order to clutch the violin securely while playing. Moreover visually, the pitches in music are clearly and systematically laid out on the keyboard, as compared to the violin or voice where it is not immediately clear where exact pitches are. Atlast the production of sound on the piano is also easy with the depression of keys. It takes more skill to produce more than out-of-tune ?squawks? from the violin.

Nowadays in Singapore, due to good foundational education at progressively younger ages, a child may know his or her alphabets, numbers, as well as a sizeable collection of nouns, when he or she is merely four years old. Alphabets are useful in note-naming in music. Also, counting in order to keep a steady pulse is very important in music.

Therefore, today, children may start piano lessons seriously and successfully when they are as young as four years old, or even three and a half years old. However, the success of starting piano early also depends on the temperament of the child, as some discipline is required in order to sit and concentrate at the piano for a period of time.
