They also may apply supports such as straps, tapes, and braces to manually adjust the spine. Chiropractors counsel patients about health issues such as diet, exercise, changes in lifestyle, and stress management, but chiropractors do not recommend drugs or perform surgery.Chiropractic adjustment seldom causes discomfort. However, patients may sometimes experience slight soreness or aching following treatment (as with some forms of exercise) that usually resolves within 12 to 48 hours.In many situations, such as lower back pain, chiropractic care may be the primary method of treatment. When other medical condition exist, chiropractic care may complement or support medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal facets allied with the circumstance.
