- Make sure that the heel is a 'manageable' height as wobbling into a room on heels that are too high will definitely not give the right impression to your potential future employer. Choose a low heel and above all comfortable shoe or a traditional black classic leather ballet style pump, which may be more suitable for a taller individual. Interviews often take place over a whole day so donning a shoe that is not comfortable will take your mind off the task at hand.

- A solid colour is chosen, preferably black, navy or brown, and the colour of the shoe should match any accessories that are worn.

- Choose leather court shoes, preferably with a closed toe, with a traditional classic look. Black leather sling back style shoes may add a bit more variety and class to the outfit but make sure they are not too overzealous. - For shoes being worn to an interview try and choose black...and they must be leather. If shoes can't be black then make sure that they match the belt.

-If you can't afford a pair of brand new shoes then use a pair that you already have but take care that they are in top condition, clean and polished with no scuffs....
