Here are a few to consider continued (part1http://www.dreamconsultancy.com.au/articles.php)?
6) Do not use images to replace text. They take longer to load, they really don't look much better, blind people can't read it and that text will no longer be searchable by the search engines.
7) Only underline links and make sure you have actual links underlined if the link is included in a paragraph of text. If you underline text to emphasize something but it is not an actual link, your readers will almost certainly be confused. The same goes for links that are not underlined. People may miss out on valuable information because they have no idea that the text leads to something more detailed or interesting.
8) Structure your text. Make use of bold headings, short paragraphs, bullet lists and tables if the information requires it. To better organize your thoughts, divide your article into sub-headings. Sub-headings make things easier to digest. Instead of tackling the entire article at once, try writing one paragraph at a time.
9) Use words in your content that people will search for. Search engines consider headings, page titles, bold and linked text to be more important and relevant and the precise wording of these sections of your content are extremely important.
10) Create a lot of links and use relevant keyword phrases as the link text. Ask other sites with similar content to link to your site and most important, tell them the text to use in the link.
11) Make good use of white space and allow your content to breathe. Don't allow text to butt up against graphic elements on your site or photographs, etc. Don't place too much emphasis on your navigation elements if content is important to your site. Allow users to easily read your message in a clean, uncluttered and ? in the case of blinking text ? non-irritating environment.
12) Write your own content. Use only content (pictures, text, videos ...) made by you or with explicit permission, everything else probably infringes someone's copyright.
Content For My Website
As a website or blog owner, you may realize that, on the web, content is king (or queen). You must have content to publish on your website or blog, even more articles for your weekly ezine, articles to create free reports or even an ebook that you plan to sell. Plus, you need articles in order to do article marketing. Geesh. That's a lot of content! I'm sure you have better things to do than be tied to your computer all day and night, writing yourself into a frenzy. I know I do. Luckily, I have some ideas to help you save time and money to get it.
But, first, why is content so important? Here are a few reasons...
First, search engines love content. The more quality pages that you have on your website, the better. Google eats it up, so keep adding more "real estate" to your website by adding pages of great content.
Second, information adds value to your website visitors. They search the internet and come to your website to find information. If you offer great info, they're more likely to tell a friend about your site, link to you from their site, and twitter about it.
Third, quality content establishes you as an expert in your field. If you're writing and sharing great information, people will begin to look at you as their "go to" person for information on that topic. You're reading this article right now, aren't you?
So, how do you get content for your website? Basically, when looking for content, you have a few options.
1. Write the articles yourself. This is a wonderful option for some of your content. You can choose to write some of it yourself. However, there are options below that will enable you to attract quality content to your website without having to write all of it yourself. (Some you can just edit and use.) Using a mixture of the options will provide you with more freedom to grow without feeling trapped to your desk all day.
2. Get a Great Writer. A ghostwriter is a freelancer who writes for you but you take the credit. There are many sites on the web where you can find frelancers. Start by searching google.com, or go to sites like elance.com or shelancers.com to look around. Most biographies are written by ghostwriters. Almost every politician on the planet uses a speech writer. When time is short, get a ghostwriter to give your project a quick boost.
3. Team up with others. Find other online business owners looking for exposure and recruit them as featured columnists or guest bloggers. They'll be glad to do it for the free advertising and exposure and you'll benefit by having more content for your website or blog. This is a great way to add value to your ezine, as well.
4. Hit the Article Directories. Places like EzineArticles.com, Isnare.com and FreeAffiliateArticles.com are packed with quality articles that you can reprint on your site, as long as you remember to include the author bio at the end. For instance, look at the bottom of this article -- it's free and you can publish it on your website as long as you include that blurb.
5. Load up with Private Label Rights (PLR) content. PLR content was created to fill a need that we, as website owners have -- the ongoing need for quality content. When you purchase PLR articles, you have nearly 100% freedom to use them. You can edit the articles, modify them for your market, create viral reports from them, or even use them to write your first book. The problem is finding quality PLR articles. There is a lot of junk out there. In order to choose a quality service, be sure to find one that has been around for awhile (not some fly-by-night site). Also, check that the articles have been professionally written and edited. Were the articles created specifically for that site or are they recycled from other PLR sites? Once you find a great PLR service, you'll wish that you started sooner.
Well, that's a quick intro to getting content for your site. I hope it gives you some ideas to help you build a booming internet business. My wish for you is to work smarter, not harder -- and watch your internet business grow!
