Don't be offended, I want to educate you on the proper nutrition for your cat. You could be harming him/her without knowing it.

The most important fact you must always remember is that our bodies are different and therefore our nutritional needs are diverse. Cats are obligate carnivores - they need meat and Mother Nature designed their bodies to efficiently digest meat.

Cats are obligate carnivores their bodies have a short, acidic digestive tract. Their bodies are well suited for digesting raw meat but they have difficulty digesting fruits, vegetables and processed carbohydrates. Prolong use of fruits, vegetables and processed carbohydrates will cause your cat to develop food related illnesses such as; diabetes and irritable bowel disease also known as IBD.

Commercial cat food companies are well aware that convenience and low prices are good selling points and they capitalize on this by producing ads that make you believe their foods are beneficial to your cats. So you purchase their foods that are chocked full of harmful ingredients and over time, these foods cause your cat to suffer from a premature death.

When you enter a place that sell cat foods and you see fruits and vegetables proudly displayed on the packages, red flags should go up. The cat food companies do this for you. It's their way of convincing you that the ingredients contained in the package are beneficial to your cat. Believing this can cost your cat his/her life.

A human needs fruit and vegetables to live a healthy and quality life. If you take away his fruits and vegetables and force him to survive on meat and processed carbohydrates, soon you would witness deterioration in his health. This type of a diet would wreak havoc on his digestive system. When you feed your cat commercial dry food, this is exactly what you are doing to your cat and it will lead to costly Vet bills and even a premature death.

You do the exact same thing to your cat, an obligate carnivore, when you feed him/her foods their bodies were never designed to digest. Feeding those fruits, vegetables and processed carbohydrates is wrecking havoc on their digestive system and as a result, they are dying prematurely.

Irrespectively of what claims the commercial cat food companies make, as a cat caregiver, you are responsible for their nutritional needs. Get the facts to ensure your cat's nutritional needs are met.

Unlike the commercial cat food companies who are part of a mostly unregulated multi-billion dollar mostly unregulated commercial pet food industry, their main objective is profits and lots of it. You actually feed your cat commercial cat foods because you believe their foods are healthy for your cat but their claims are false and dangerous for your cat.

Have you ever considered what goes into a bag of dry cat food? It would probably surprise you but your cat could very well be a cannibal because dead dogs and cats have ended up in commercial cat food. For some commercial pet food companies it is common to find the four D's ( dead, dying, diseased, disabled) animals in their pet food.

Ingredients listed on the bag such as meat meal, animal digest, animal bi-product and meat by-product often times include euthanized animals from Veterinarian clinics, dying circus animals, dead farm animals covered with tumors and road-kill (dead animals found on the side of the roadways).

You would think that they would stop there but they also add toxic preservatives.

In order to extend the life of their foods, they use such deadly preservatives as; Ethoxyquin, BHA and BHT. All these preservatives have been linked to kidney and liver failure in cats.

How can any food that sits in a hot warehouse for twelve to eighteen months be considered nutritional?

It's time for you to break the strangle-hold the pet food companies have on you and your cats. You need to take control of their diets and stop feeding them foods that are harmful. This is not a difficult process. The one thing you must be cognizance of is the fact that cats are carnivores. They should be fed a meat-based diet and by doing so, you and your cat will have many years together.
