ISTRIA: THE WRECK OF THE FERRY "BARON GAUTSCH": 8 NAUTICAL MILES AWAY FROM ROVINJ
Depth: 28 - 42 meters
This diving zone is suitable only for advanced divers.
The 85 meters long and almost 12 meters wide ferry of Baron Gautsch sank in 1914 not far away from Rovinj. It sailed on the route Kotor ? Triest when it accidentally ran up on a remained underwater mine. 240 persons died at this misfortune. The upper deck of the ferry lies in a depth of 28 meters, that lower deck in a depth of 36 meter and the ground of the ferry rests in a depth of 42 meters. The wreck is very well in condition and it is among to the most beautiful ones in the Adria. A special attraction is the fact that you can dive into the inside of the ship.
NORTHDALMATIA: THE CATHEDRAL - A SYSTEM OF UNDERWATER CAVES IN THE BAY OF ?IROKA: THE ISLAND PREMUDA

Although you can recommend the whole southwestern coast of the island Premuda from the bay of Zaporat to cape Lopata as a destination for divers, we have to mention the cathedral as a special place.
It is a zone at the coast of the bay of Siroka, that is well known for its underwater caves with its numerous columns and holes. The caves are interconnected through corridors so that you can dive through all caves. Thanks to the porous stone, of which they exist, the daylight produces beautiful light and shadow games at the walls of this underwater room.
NORTHDALMATIA: UNDERWATER WALLS NEAR BY THE SMALL ISLAND STAMBEDAR, PAKLENJACI: ISLAND HVAR
Depth: 5 - 45 meters
This divinge zone is suitable for all categories - (beginners to advanced divers).
Stambedar is a small island, belonging to the Pakleni island group, close to the island Hvar. Stambedar is interesting for divers, because there is beautiful underwater wall, that begins in a depth of 5 meters, and goes down to 45 meters. In the lower part of the wall, you can find a "forest" of red and violet coral. This diving site is especially interesting, because of its rich animal kingdom: different types of fish, algae, snails and sea urchin together with numerous other sea organisms, sheltered by the sea of this small island.
SOUTHDALMATIA: THE WRECK OF THE TRADE SHIP "TARANTO":
This diving site is suitable is only for advanced divers.
The ship Taranto sank in 1943 nearby Dubrovnik, because it ran up on a mine. That`s the reason why there are scattered parts of the ship`s freight and the motor in the immediate vicinity of the ship. The ship itself is broken apart in two halves, the stern stuck in the sand, while the ship bow in an angle of 45 ? leans erected at a rock. Fish swarms that live in the shipwreck increase the attractiveness of this diving site.
