Cross promotion is basically a fabulous way to advertise your eBay auctions by, in a sense, "trading" promotions. Companies cross promote when they sponsor an event. They are then advertising two different organizations at once. For instance when McDonalds sponsors the Olympics, both McDonalds and the Olympic Games receive additional exposure. Cross promoting eBay auctions with third party auction gallery providers is a good way to gain extra exposure.



In looking at the various auction galleries that are out there, there are relatively few that even offer any advanced cross promotion techniques. eBay auction galleries are well known simply based on the eBay website. eBay has had phenomenal success both as an independent company and as a promotional company.

I did the search looking for a third auction gallery to compare along with the eBay and Crosspitch auction gallery cross promotion, but those that I found at the very least weren't making it obvious they were doing any sort of cross promotion.

They offered special deals if you were participating on eBay, but it was aimed more at detracting from the power of eBay, as though it was a wise decision to leave eBay and go to a different auction gallery altogether, which I found odd. That means that their clientele are supposed to leave their eBay resources to focus entirely on various other auction galleries. I think the term, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," came to mind.

Either way, the cross promotional tools that are offered on the internet are designed to allow people to gain twice the exposure for their advertising dollar, a concept which by all means has business people and home based entrepreneurs hailing with gigantic accolades. Cross promotional tools accelerate sales and offer better exposure, regardless of which auction gallery a business minded individual is partial to. The idea is to find every possible edge to focus entirely on success, is it not?
