What should you do now? Create a "things-to-do" list for today and the next day and the next! Every morning I keep a blank piece of paper next to me as I read my Bible. When ideas or tasks pop into my head, I write them down. This keeps me focused on God's leading in the Bible and lets me remember those simple tasks later. When I finish my quiet time, I evaluate my list, comparing it to my weekly goals.
I'm not sure what you experience, but in mid-afternoon, my brain gets so drained I can't remember what I need to do. It even happened yesterday. I ended up wandering around the house trying to come up with what I forgot.
What if I simply forget? I look for my early morning list and check if there's something that's not been done. It's that easy! My list is a very good memory aid as I get older and easily forget things.
Always be updated on your plans so you are prepared for unforseen changes. Based on experience as a mother, I know there are times when contingencies are needed. When my first child was born, I heard that moms should prepare to-do lists on multiple days. If the task is not done on the first day, you can still finish it on the next day. If it takes 2 or 3 day, let it. Now your goals can now be fulfilled without worrying too much about it.
A lot of us are somewhat relaxed with our schedules during the first of the year, whether you homeschool or not. It is the time to set goals for this new year. Get a pen and paper and start fulfilling your dreams. It's something that you'll be very happy about.
