The proliferation of mobile phones everywhere, have caused many government regulators in different countries to make a study of possible health hazards to the use of mobile phones.  Aside from possible health hazards, studies were also made to evaluate and consider making laws and regulations that would tend to regulate the use of mobile phones while driving.   It was noted that there were already several medical studies that were made with regards to the possible effects to the body of continued mobile phone use.  Some studies to this effect however, were long running, while other studies did not show any possible detrimental effect to the body of mobile phone users.       



               

With regards to the hazards of driving while using a mobile phone, studies in several countries have indicated increased traffic accidents mainly due to mobile phone use.  The relevance of these studies showed that traffic rules and regulations in most countries have now included the passage of rules and regulations that would effectively regulate the use of mobile phones while driving.  Although in countries where the use of mobile phones has just come of age like Cuba, Myanmar and other parts of South America, traffic rules still do not have rules and regulations that would regulate the use of mobile phones while driving.  In some other countries, there are now rules governing cell sites, instead of mobile phones.  These rules and regulations do not allow telecommunication companies to set up cell sites in densely populated areas in urban areas, especially those that are near schools and universities.  These rules were made to prevent any harmful effects to people living near cell sites of mobile phones, if any..                                          

Still, in some other countries, the national government leaves it to their local government to make the necessary laws governing the use of mobile phones.  Thus, you will be surprised that when you go to a particular city, you might not be able to use your mobile phone in some places in the city.  Examples of these places would be schools, churches, gasoline stations and financial institutions like banks.  There are various reasons why mobile phones are not allowed to be used in these places.  For schools, mobile phones are not allowed during classes due to possible lack of concentration of students in the classroom as students would be using their mobile phones to chat without the knowledge of their teachers and the possibility of cheating during exams.   For churches, mobile phones are disallowed inside churches to the distraction that it can bring.  Mobile phones are likewise not allowed for use near gasoline stations as it can cause accidental electrical spark that might cause the gasoline station to catch fire and blow up.  And for banks, mobile phones are not allowed to receive and sent messages by voice or text as they do not want people to be held up after withdrawing a substantial amount from banks. 

Indeed, the use of mobile phones by criminals is an area where this technology has made them more brazen in their criminal activities.  This is one of the more dangerous aspects of mobile phone use.  Criminals can easily plan and execute their activities with the use of mobile phones.  Lately, as seen in news and even in movies, mobile phones are used by hoodlums, bank robbers and kidnappers to pursue their evil plans.  Even terrorists have already taken advantage of the mobile phone technology in their bomb attacks to kill and maim innocent people.
