Contrary to what you might have heard about Deer Valley, there is an active nightlife. In fact, the Deer Valley/Park City area is the place in Utah with the highest number of alcoholic beverage businesses per capita. If you are going to drink here you should know a couple things about Utah's liquor laws. Many businesses that serve alcohol are private clubs. Guests may purchase an inexpensive membership that is good for 3 weeks. This will allow entry and consumption of alcohol during that time period. So, technicalities aside, there are loads of places where you can get a good drink, see live entertainment, and dance; if that's in your vacation plans.
To locate the nicest assortment of clubs and pubs, you should head to Park Citys historic district. If you wish to enjoy live-entertainment check out the Spur Bar and Grill on Main Street. There is no smoking in here. Despite the fact that it's cowboy themed, it's comfortable instead of rustic. Spurs sister location is at 350 S. Main. Their Jupiter Cosmopolitan was voted in 2005 as Park Citys signature drink. Another place that offers music in the form of jazz, funk or acoustic is Mother Urbans Ratskeller. This place is also well-known for locally produced burritos and a wide-selection of bottled beers.
During the 2002 Winter Olympics, celebrities gathered at Harry Os. This is a hip dance club with live bands or a DJ. Club dress is required and lines are to be expected. Also be prepared for a heavier membership fee at this popular hangout. Another place to dance is Ciseros. This place is a packed dance club on one floor and a fine dining establishment on the other.
Additional popular bars are OShucks and No Name Saloon. OShucks is so-named for the oysters they serve by the dozen. O'Shuck's is little and can bring a crowdlots of locals. On Tuesday nights they sell $3 giant beers and burgers. Right next door is the No Name Saloon which provides live music and an enjoyable atmosphere. More places you can go for meals are Bandits Bar and Grill and Wasatch Brewing Company. Bandits is a laid-back bar that offers barbecue and steak fries. Wasatch Brewing Company provides casual dining and local brews as well.
You wont be forced to travel far to find a trendy, nighttime hangout in this area. Whether you're interested in a traditional pub, a romantic date bar, or a boisterous dance club; there are more than enough options. Regardless of the time of year, you'll find a drinking establishment that fits your personality and budget.
