Replace mascara every three months. As mascara is a breeding ground for bacteria, most tube and wand mascaras have an antibacterial agent in them that lasts about 6 weeks. This will keep you safe for 2 - 3 months, but the longer you keep the mascara, the more you risk eye infection. If you notice the smell changes or the texture changes, throw it out.
