Dubai souqs
You can soak up some history meandering through traditional souqs in Dubai, searching for souvenirs, ornate fabrics, local spices or gold jewellery - the sheer quantity and designs of which will amaze you.
A modern version of the traditional Arabian 'souq' - and a must see while in Dubai - was built next to the Madinat Jumeirah Hotel on the Jumeirah Beach Road. A visit to 'Madinat Souk' allows you to browse typical market stalls and bazaar-type shops in 5-star style - a perfect Dubai shopping venue for souvenirs to take back home.

Cinema
For the most part, we enjoy the latest Hollywood blockbusters in Dubai . Although they premiere here a little bit later than in the US or UK , the time lag doesn't seem to be too bad. Bollywood movies in Dubai are quite popular, with an average of two new movies a week. You may be able to catch some movies in other languages such as Malayam, Telegu, and Tamil, but they are not shown as often. Surprisingly, there are very few Arabic movies in the cinema. Only one or two showings a week and they are usually at least six months old.
The cinemas in Dubai are of top quality. They are clean and comfortable and of course air conditioned. Sometimes it even gets too chilly, so don't forget bring a jacket. There's also a wide range of snacks and drinks available.
For something more exciting, catch an IMAX movie at Grand Cinemas, Ibn Battuta Mall. Nothing beats a movie in 3D?unless you are in Dubai . To top that, the CineStar at Mall of the Emirates features a special luxurious cinema called Gold Class. With extra-comfortable, fully-reclining chairs, in a private and luxurious setting, it's a 5 star movie experience.
