Diabetes Symptoms And Causes

    View:
Type 2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes, the problem being that the body does not produce enough insulin, or other cells ignore the insulin you produce. Sugar is essential for the body to survive because it gives us energy. Insulin's job is to take sugar that your body needs to function and deliver it to your bodies cells. If your body's cells do not get the sugar they need to survive, sugar builds up and causes high blood glucose levels, which hurts your eyes, nerves, kidneys and/or heart. Type 2 diabetes usually occurs in older people, and is more commonly found in overweight and obese individuals. However, type 2 diabetes does occur in some thin people, especially at an older age.

The causes of type 2 diabetes vary greatly. The causes can include insulin abnormalities, increased glucose production, increased fat breakdown, defective hormones, lifestyles issues (such as obesity and inactivity), and it can be hereditary in some cases.

While some people experience no symptoms at all, some of the symptoms for type 2 diabetes include increased thirst, increased urination, increased appetite, fatigue, blurred vision, frequent or slow healing infections, and in males erectile dysfunction.

Type 2 diabetes is a very preventable disease, and you can lower your chances of getting this disease if you keep an active lifestyle, eating a healthy diet which is low in fat and processed foods, while high in raw vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Keeping your weight at a healthy level also significantly lowers your risk.

Experts now say that everyone over 45 should be tested for diabetes. Younger individuals should be tested if they have any of the following risk factors: being overweight, high blood pressure, low HDL cholesterol levels, high triglyceride levels, having a genetic history of diabetes, delivering a baby that weighs over 9 pounds, or having a close relative with diabetes. If you feel that you might be at risk for type 2 diabetes, visit your health care practitioner as soon as you possibly can. While being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes can be very frightening, and some people would like to avoid thinking about it, the sooner you are diagnosed, the better your chances of survival are. Diabetes kills people everyday, but if you are receiving proper care and taking care of yourself, you can live a long and healthy life.
Diabetes Symptoms And Causes
Insomnia is a regular problem that happens to millions of people every day and can be brought on by a multitude of conditions, diseases, or situations.

Sleep is fundamental for renewing your mental and physical well-being. Sleep has two separate known stages: one stage is called rapid eye movement or REM, this is the stage that you typically dream. The next is called non-rapid eye moment or NREM, you start here going from a relaxed state to a light sleep, then you move into deeper levels of sleep. After NREM, then you will experience REM sleep.

Attributes that can cause sleeplessness or insomnia are nervous tension, apprehension, hopelessness, illness, soreness, drugs, sleep problems, bad sleep rituals as wells your sleep surroundings and health habits.

Insomnia occurs in women more often than it does in men. That is because women often have sleeplessness associated with there menstrual cycle, when they're pregnant, and during menopause. Age can also play a factor with this sleep disorder. People who are going through marital problems or other stressful life issues complain more of sleep problems than those who aren't experiencing them.

Insomnia is determined by both an individuals night behavior and how long the sleeplessness lasts. Sleep-onset insomnia is determined by how difficult it is for a person to fall asleep. Maintenance insomnia is determined by whether or not you wake up numerous times during the night or if you are someone who wakes up extremely early.

This condition is also determined by how many nights you actually have that you can't sleep. Short-term or transient wakefulness occurs in people a lot, but it lasts just a couple of days. Long-term or chronic wakefulness is considered to be sleeplessness that lasts for longer than three weeks, this condition can cause a person to have more accidents in both the home and work environment as well as when driving. The reason for this is that a person who has problems sleeping at night tends to nod off during the day. Chronic wakefulness can also be a contributing factor for mood disorders like depression.

Transient wakefulness is brought on by short-term conditions in one's life, like a quarrel with another person, sickness, or even traveling. When there is resolution with the contributing factors then the symptoms will typically dissipate on their own.

Chronic wakefulness can be brought on by medical problems, drinking caffeine, alcohol or smoking, stress, depression, change in routine, snoring, restless leg syndrome, nocturnal myoclonus, panic attacks and nightmares.

Sadly Insomniacs don't have the luxury of beginning their day feeling refreshed. Unlike many other medical conditions, people usually know that they have this problem, because its symptoms are readily recognizable.
