Differences Between Children And Adults

    View:
Bringing your child to your dentist may be extremely traumatizing for a child. Many children are often intimidated by the dentist and their surroundings. General dental offices are pretty plain with soothing wall colors and magazines which rarely cater to the twelve and under age category. It is crucial that a child's first dental office experience is a good one because this could mark the rest of your child's life concerning his or her feelings regarding going to the dentist.

Also your child's dental care is going to be much different from yours; from the amount of toothpaste to the size of the dental tools, everything about dental care for children is different from adults. Even the way that the dentist will speak to your child is different. Dental professions for children are trained to work with children while adult dentists are not. These dentists will be able to communicate what they are doing in a simple form that children can understand and will use certain techniques which will help your child to relax while performing dental procedures.

Child Dental offices will often be much more child friendly. They will be decorated in bright and fun colors, they will have video games, televisions, movies, games, books and magazines all directed at children and their comfort while at the dentist's office. This helps a child to relax tremendously. They will also have the chance to play with other children. At an adult facility, your child may feel alone since there are no other children around to share in the experience.

In terms of the actual dental care, when was the last time your dentist offered you fun toothpaste flavors such as bubblegum? Your child's dental provider will often have these types of flavors that children love and can choose from. The dental tools will also be much smaller making the procedure easier and more comfortable for children. Also, a child's dental care differs from an adults because they are just beginning to learn while adults should already be in a good dental routine.

Children will learn how to specifically brush their teeth, how much toothpaste to use and learning about proper dental routines. They will learn that they need to brush their teeth after their meals and for at least twice a day before plaque begins to build up on the teeth and create cavities. Surprisingly, some adults are unaware of these crucial dental routines. The earlier that a child begins to create and respond to this dental routine, the better oral health he or she will have.

Overall, finding a great children's dentist is the most important thing a parent can do in order to ensure good oral health for a child. Your child will not feel alone when he or she is waiting in the dentist's waiting room, he or she will be surrounded by familiar movies and activities and will be attended by professional who know how to work side by side with children to give them an ultimate and wonderful dental experience.
Differences Between Children And Adults
Dyslexia, a learning disorder that affects the way a person interprets written letters, translates to "difficulty with words". Millions of people around the world are diagnosed with Dyslexia. A person with Dyslexia learns their own pace and level. Individuals with Dyslexia may excel in another area, such as in mathematics.

Here are some of the problems someone with Dyslexia might face: (1) memory problems (2) understanding (3) abstract reasoning (4) social adjustment (5) concentration (6) poor school grades (7) eye-hand coordination (8) underachievement.

Too often Dyslexic people are seen by others as lazy, not motivated, or even below normal intelligence. Those suffering those types of judgments need all the support they can get from family and friends. They will also need special help in learning.

It is important that family and friends of someone suffering from Dyslexia offer support and encouragement so that the Dyslexic doesn't feel alone and isolated. It is also important that for the person with Dyslexia there is moral support both at home and at school or at work. People with Dyslexia will often have to work harder than the average person to make achievements and move ahead.

There is lots of help that is available for someone with Dyslexia, including educational tools. Although it is difficult for the Dyslexic to read and write they should never stop trying. There are many tricks and tools that they can use to function successfully. These tips include having people write down things for them, asking people to repeat instructions, or having people read things for them. Using a spell checker in word processing software is a good way to make sure that certain words are spelled correctly and that proper grammar is used. There are many organizations that the Dyslexic can use for support and to associate with people that suffer from the same learning disability. It is important for someone with Dyslexia to feel that they are not alone and they can reach the same point that someone without Dyslexia can get too'it will just take them longer to get there. Other methods that a person suffering from Dyslexia can try if they are in school are to make sure teachers and instructors are aware of the learning disability. They should be able to take longer during exam time and may need someone to read the questions to them as well as help in writing down the answers in a timely manner.

Organizations supporting Dyslexics are out there to help these patients. It is helpful for them to meet others with the same disability, so they won't feel so isolated. They will also learn that with a lot of hard work, they can ascend to the same level as non-Dyslexic people, although it will take them longer. If they are in school, they should be sure to talk with their teachers about being learning disabled. They can ask for extra time taking exams or even have someone there to read the questions to them and help them right down the answers.
