Dining Restaurants In London

    View:
At present no one can surpass Gordon Ramsay in his culinary skills. Years of work with such world-famous chefs as Joël Robuchon, Guy Savoy and Albert Roux became the reference point for his career, and now it is no wonder that he is renowned as one of the best chefs in the world. Gordon’s restaurants in London are the real Mecca for the connoisseurs of culinary art. Having tasted Ramsay’s dishes, visitors can appreciate the passion, fervour and skills that brought him world acknowledgement and storm of applause. But those are not only excellent dishes that Ramsay restaurants are popular for. Each restaurant has a unique interior – and this is no less important than the food offered.

68 Royal Hospital Road is the first Ramsay restaurant, which was opened in 1998 in the famous Chelsea area. Its success is simply marvelous – by now the hotel has three Michelin Stars. If you want to be the first to try Ramsay’s culinary novelties, go to this restaurant. The interior is decorated in a simple manner, but this is what all the genius things are like. Three restaurant’s “natural rules" are: natural materials – wood and leather, natural colours – beige, hazel and white, and natural light – a few London’s buildings can boast of such wide windows. Wide, spacious and expensive.

Petrus restaurant is located in the respectable Berkeley hotel in the Knightsbridge district. The room is not that spacious, but thanks to a great amount of mirrors and mahogany panels you won’t feel uncomfortable. Rich colours, expressive structures and brilliance of crystal create wonderful surroundings for chef’s dishes – it is no wonder that the restaurant has a Michelin star. Besides, the list of wines offered here is one of the longest in London. The restaurant comprises several halls. For instance, small Pomerol Room banquet hall is the real world of black velvet and crystal candelabrums. Each Ramsay restaurant has a so-called Ch'f’s Table, where guests can observe gastronomic shows performed by chef. In Petrus, this room is rather small – just for eight, and corresponds to the main hall’s colour spectrum: dark lilac panels and black leather will impress you.

Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s is located at the excellent art-deco Claridge’s hotel and is very popular with real gourmets. You won’t find straight and ceremonious table rows here: the way the tables are positioned and the way they look are unusual ones. The combination of colours is also exceptional: beige and orange contrast with lilac patterned carpets and crimson furniture. Those who want to see how their food is prepared, can book The Chef’s Table – this way, they will be able to discuss the menu with chef. There are 3 banquet rooms in the restaurant: The Davies Room, The Salon and the spacious Amaryllis Room for 32.

The Savoy Grill was opened in 1889 so its walls still remember the aroma of Churchill’s cigars, Charlie Chaplin’s playful smile and the brilliance of the royal jewellery. But when Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing appeared here in 2004, the restaurant has breathed in new life. In 2004, for the first time in its history, it received a Michelin star. With its dark-red panels and blacked-out mirrors, the restaurant has the passionate air of the 1940’s - 50’s. Sounds of piano add to the atmosphere.

Menu at the Connaught was opened in 2002 and is situated at one of London’s most prestigious hotels: The Connaught (Mayfair district). Dark oak panels, discreet brownish-beige tones, old sconces and high-quality furniture upholstery create the atmosphere of an ancient aristocratic mansion. So it is even hard to imagine that the restaurant’s chef and manager, Angela Hartnett, comes from the sunny Italy and her Mediterranean impetuosity is reflected in the dishes served here. No roast beefs and porridge – modern European food in traditional English interior.

Boxwood Café restaurant was opened in 2003 and is located at Berkeley hotel. This is the real New York in the centre of Knightsbridge. Geometrical forms of trees so typical for New York’s cultural districts inspired Barbara Barry for creation of a unique interior with colours of rich greenery, bitter chocolate and delicate cream. The second floor is occupied by The Will'w Room banquet hall. Everything is different here: old mirrors, shaded colors and rattan furniture create the atmosphere of mystery and an element of a game.

Banquette is rather a young restaurant located straight above The Savoy Grill, with the eclectic design. Its color palette will impress you with its diversity: bright red, cream and brown… What visitors like most are the long crème-coloured leather sofas. The menu is no less diverse: from light salads to complex dinners.

Ramsay design is versatile, but whatever restaurant you choose, you may be quite certain that t food will be delicious.
