Do It Yourself Holiday Presents

    View:
Sometimes, Christmas season, with all the decoration and merriment, can get pretty expensive. You will be spending for decorations, food and who can forget -presents! The decorations are fine since you can still use them again the following years. Spending for scrumptious food is alright, too, because you will be satisfied afterwards. But spending a bunch of cash that you have for presents for other people? Now that is Christmas spirit in you!

On the other hand, if you are reluctant to spend a lot on presents, then you could always opt for do-it-yourself Christmas gifts. They are quite easy to make, really, if you just put your heart into it. Just let your imaginations go wild and your creative juices flow. In the end, you will have made unique personalized gifts and surely your friends will see how much effort you have put into it. Everyone is happy. Just exactly how Christmas is supposed to be.

So to get the ball rolling, you can start thinking as early as now for you to still have ample time to gather some materials and make the presents yourself! But if you are in short of ideas, reading on will definitely help you think out of the box.

1. If you have a talent, then now is the time to showcase that talent and put it to good use. If you know how to knit, you can easily buy knitting materials and start on your project as soon as possible. If you paint, then give them a painting that will forever serve as a reminder of how much you treasure your friendship with them.

2. Instead of the usual Christmas cards, you can always make a scroll and then write your message there instead. You can even glue on some pictures or glitters. Attach a nylon string or a rope so that they can hang it on their walls. You have just given you friend two gifts in one!

3. If your friend loves to go about the kitchen doing some cooking and baking, then this next gift idea will absolutely make her delighted. All you have to do is fill a jar with the raw ingredients for cookie. Just layer the flour, baking soda, salt, chocolate chips, white sugar and lastly, brown sugar. You can use a cork to seal in all the ingredients. Slip in a tag to a green and red ribbon and tie it around the cork for a very jolly finishing touch.

4. Collect memories of past adventures and outings that you have experienced with your friends. Compile all of it in to a slideshow. Make it as artistic as possible by using different colors and backgrounds. When all is done, you can burn the slideshow presentation into a compact disk. Make sure that you place the CD in a nice and sturdy case.

Do-it-yourself gifts are not complete if you don't wrap the gifts yourself. Be as creative as possible. You can even stick to a theme to avoid buying a lot of wrapping papers. Attach tags that you creatively designed.
