iPod got a jolt when Sony Ericsson decided to launch its Walkman series, and with launch of 'K' series the manufacturer seems to further push the boundaries between mobile phones and standalone digital cameras. And one such handset under this genre, that has made a good impression, is Sony Ericsson K810i. The handset looks almost like its predecessor the K800i, with the only difference being in the aesthetic looks.
Going with the flow of the shiny fashion phones, the Sony Ericsson K810i also comes packaged in glossy front section. There is also an inclusion of a glossy keypad, with small circular silver keys. But the keypad does lack some comfort. Since the keys are too small and set apart, typing becomes difficult. Also the navigation joystick is awkward to press. More addition for K810i includes reduction of its size. The new handset comes is 5mm slimmer. There is a new and improved camera cover, which is set in between two ridges to stop it opening in your pocket.
Being a phone under the highly celebrated 'camera series', the Sony Ericsson K810i comes with an impressive imaging prowess. The camera is of 3.2-megapixel sensor, with autofocus and a xenon flash. In terms of camera software, the handset offers advantage to shoot still pictures and video, adjust the white balance and picture quality, and share pictures via MMS, email or blogs. There is also the option for BestPic. Probably, the only difference between the camera software of Sony Ericsson K810i and its predecessor is that the latter includes something called Photo Fix that automatically adjusts light balance, brightness and contrast. And as far as the hardware changes of the camera goes, the K810i includes a special operation. When you activate the camera, the 1, 4, 7 and asterisk keys turn into camera hard keys and give you direct access to some of the camera settings.
Other highlights of Sony Ericsson K810i includes 3G /GPRS /Infrared /USB, tri-band, Bluetooth, 64MB of memory, media player and FM radio.
