Stimulants like nicotine or coffee, phobias and many short term triggering causes that include significant personal loss, changes in life can cause panic attacks. One important change in life can be a layoff and one can certainly develop an anxiety attack if he/she is laid off from work.

When you get laid off it can be a huge shock. Without realizing, you can connect it with several aspects of your life. All sorts of negative and frightening things pop up in your mind, like possible lack of money and also how difficult it might be to get a new job. If you happen to be over 40, there seems to be a common belief that you won't be hired anymore.

One of the most common and disturbing problem these days is lack of money, especially if you have a family to support. Money is very important part of our lives, whether we like it or not. If you get laid off this will cause you, even unwillingly, start to think your possible future money problems and this kind of thinking can even stop you from getting another job.

Keeping a positive mindset in these kind of events can be very difficult. On the bright side, you'll find that there are specialists that can help you, unfortunately these cost money, which you might not have. This is a nasty circle and anxiety can take over. Evebtually this might lead to panic attacks, which can be very strong and can even cause long term psychological effects.

Process For Possible Layoff

Usually layoff happens becauce the company has to lower costs and it needs to layoff people to keep afloat. Of course there can be other reasons to layoff an individual, but we are not looking into that now. If the company is on the small side they might not be able to offer any substantial compensation for the person who is laid off.

This kind of situation can lead to anxiety attacks. If the company is bigger, they usually give a monetary "gift" for those who are being laid off. This is not much, but at least it can give you some kind of stability and freedom while you are looking for another job.

The best thing an individual can do when laid off is to talk to friends, family and ask for support. It can make a huge difference. The people that are close to the individual can aid him get back onto his feet and can bring a huge element in that can prevent the appearance of an anxiety attack. If one of your friends or family members has been laid off, be sure to contact him and offer as much support as you can.

Human beings have the quality of being able to both aid and destroy each other. In such a situation it should be aiding what comes to mind. An anxiety attack is not something easy to deal with and the individual that suffers from it needs all the help he can get. It is as simple as that: we need to help our friends and family members when they go through rough times like getting laid off. They might help us out too when the time comes for us to need help.

Therefore, you need to pay attention to the food that you consume. Soon, you will find that you are able to overcome this condition.

Another way I've learned to control panic attack is by using a technique that I've found to be very effective called the distraction technique. As simple as it sounds, it works well enough to render help when you need to control a panic attack.

There are many forms of the distraction technique but one of the more effective ways to control panic attack by engaging and becoming active in sports. This will force your mind to re-focus on the tasks at hand. You will be thinking about how to execute your chosen sport instead of thinking and obsessing an incident that has caused a panic attack to occur. When you learn to distract yourself away from the cause of attack quickly, then you will be better able to deal with your mental condition.

Another way to control panic attack effectively is by changing how you think. When you encounter such an attack, then you need to re-affirm that the person who is controlling the situation is you and not the aggressor. Do not harbor negative thoughts and then get upset over it. Once you change your mind to believe that the control lies in your hands, then you will soon be able to enjoy a panic-free lifestyle. It would even be much better if you could take some time off from work and enjoy a well-deserved holiday. Once you are well-rested, your well-being will also be stimulated.

These are the three top tips I know of that I use to manage my panic anxiety disorder. I used to find it difficult trying to manage a medical condition that I don't understand. After applying these three tips, I find that I am better able to control panic attack.
