This is a question that probably runs through every webmaster's brain cells each and every minute or maybe each and every second. However, there are people who understand that there is really a value in looking at a long term solution than a quick short solution. I am one of them who get it. Today I sat down and decided to put my thoughts into words for you.
What is a short term solution for driving traffic to your site?
Well a short term solution can be defined as a "solution that gets traffic to your site if and only when you keep spending numerous hours or pay others each and every day". In other words, the short term traffic stops after you stop spending valuable time or money.
There are numbers of ways to drive short term traffic to your site. Such ways are:
1. Pay someone like Google to advertise on their Google AdWords. You will be guaranteed to receive traffic to your site and if your sales pitch is good, you can even make money. However, you will be spending money for each and every single click.
2. You can buy bulk traffic from other sources such as NetKlick.com!. This will cost you much cheaper than the above example in terms of number of visitors per dollar spent. But it does not really means that all the visitors are looking for your product. So you will not convert all traffic into money but it can work if your product line is diverse.
3. You can sit around posting in forum posts and sending emails out to your lists to bring in traffic. Webmasters spend numerous hours sending out emails or posting in forums to bring people to their website.
As you can see, all these methods will work well in short term however once you get yourself occupied with something else or when your money runs out, you will not be bringing in any traffic.
Why should you pay money when you can secure a long term free traffic to your site?
What is a long term solution for driving traffic to your site?
A long term solution means that you spend some time now to sustain a steady flow of traffic for the future. It should only increase as days go by and not decrease. Well there are many ways for you to make sure that your long term goals are safe. I am only going to go through few of them today.
1. You probably heard the term "Blog", which really means weblog. It is a way for people to share their information directly with others. A daily journal is what I would call it. Go to sites like Blogger.com and create a blog for your self. Start writing daily and in that blog you can insert links to your other sites. If you have your own sites, you can also create a blog there. Search engines love fresh contents and they will find your blog.

Blogging is quickly becomming a popular way to increase your search engine optimization and ultimately improving your on-line income. Blogs, originally known as a web log, can be about a wide variety of topics and usually consists of thoughts, opinions, and information on the topic of the blog. If used properly, a blog can help promote your product, driving traffic to your website.
Blogs do differ from traditional sites in that they are not composed of individual web pages connected by hyperlinks, but instead, they utilize a template where content is fed from a database. Each new item submitted to the blog is called a post and may include hyperlinks to your site. Posts support using tags or keywords so that your individual blog posts are organized into categories helping to improve web search functionality.
You are probably asking yourself, how can I market my business and site using blogs? It is easy, really. The most common and successful way to utilize blogs for your business is to create a blog page as your landing page. This will enable you and fellow bloggers to "converse" about your topic on your website. Each blog entry you make should include a hyperlink to your business site and should also include tags associated with the blog topic (which can also be connected with your business opportunity).
Think about this: if every blog post has tags and all of the tags are keywords associated to the topic of your blog and thus your business, then your blog just enhanced your ranking on search engines on the Web! That is free advertising to your website.
There are several free blogging systems that can be used to host your blog site. The most popular is Blogger, which is owned by Google. It is easy to set up and easy to use.
Once you have a blog site, your next step is to start blogging. The most successful blog post sites, whether you are blogging to promote your business or simply for pleasure should have ONE topic, be interesting, and be written in your personal voice. A single topic keeps the blog site more relevant to search engines and keeps consistency in the tags on the posts. The best way to keep your blog interesting is to write your post as if it were going to one person, like you are having a conversation with them. This engages the reader and invites feedback and comments to your site. The more visits to your site, the more you are marketing your business and gaining credibility.
You also have the option of adding affiliate links and Google Ad Sense to your site—which not only brings traffic to your site, it could also bring a secondary stream of income into your pocket!
So if you want a great way to bring traffic to your site for free...start blogging!
