With such potential in front of you how can you set up an e commerce web site on your hosting account? Even more important how can you do so on a budget?
It's not really difficult and very affordable for even the beginner to set up a site that can receive payments.
So how do you go about it?
1.First you need to get yourself a good web host. Not a free one. Why not free? A free host makes you look unprofessional. They have their own advertising on your site. You need to be able to have your own advertising or no advertising so that you focus your customers on your product.
2.Then you need find someone that will process your payments.
3.You will also need the software to make your pages.
Choosing the right web host is not an easy task. You need to assess the quality of the hosting account as well as the value provided. Some of the things you need to look for are:
How many domains can you run on your account? This is important. You will over time produce and promote many products. You will want a new domain name for each product. You would not want to have to organize and pay for a new hosting account each time you decided to run with a new product.
Does the hosting account let you run CGI scripts? How many databases are you permitted to run? How much disk space are you allotted? These are just a few of the questions you will need to ask in choosing a host.
Next our payment processors.
There are very affordable ways to set up a payment processor. I'm just going to mention 3.
The first one is free. You pay a small percentage of your sale to the processor. This one is PayPal. Free to join and set up your account. You will need a PayPal email address. It is good to set up a dedicated email for this. You should be able to do this with your hosting account as you should be able to set up a number of emails.
2checkout.com is another secure payment processor you could use. Many internet marketers use this payment processor. Most will use all three. This one has a setup fee of $50.00 and then charges a small fee for each sale you make.
The last on this list is ClickBank. ClickBank is free to join. It has a huge list of affiliate products that you could choose to promote.
If you wish to become a vendor, selling your products using ClickBank you will need to pay a setup fee. This is about $50.00. ClickBank also charges a small percentage for each sale that is made through them.
As you can see, setting up your own e commerce web site is not real difficult and is very affordable.
