It may be tempting to jump right in and make money fast online. But the first thing you need to do is research. Do a search in Google or Yahoo about any program before you join it. Look out for scams and "get rich quick" promises. Talk to other people in forums and ask what works.

Be realistic and do the math.

There are legitimate businesses that do this. You get paid to read newsletters and messages delivered via e-mail, or for taking a survey. This is one of the easiest ways to make money fast online. All you have to do is read the page and pay attention. Granted that the pay is small (a few cents per e-mail). But then, think of all those hours you waste everyday reading and forwarding chain mails. If you have the luxury of time in your hands, why not get paid for it?

Sell photographs online.

Do you enjoy taking pictures? You can make money fast online with your hobby. People always need stock photos for their web sites, brochures, posters, etc. You can upload your collection to an online photo site. Just make sure these are your own work and not a retouching of someone else's. Also, get the basics of photo-editing, scene composition and camera adjustment. You do not have to be as good as a National Geographic photographer, of course.
