The business of affiliate marketing is taking hold as one of the best ways to make money online. There are tons of reasons why it's becoming so popular, but mostly because it enables people to work from home for some extra cash or even a full time income if they dedicate enough time to it. Forget the people that are telling you its too hard to get started if you don't know such and such programming languages or how to design a perfect web layout! I'm going to show you just how simple it really can be to get started in the world of affiliate marketing, and we might even have some fun along the way.



Affiliate Marketing sounds a little scary at first, but fear not! It is usually a term used pretty loosely to mean a number of different things. In layman's terms all it means is that you are selling a company's products, and in exchange for your salesmanship, they are going to give you a nice little compensation. Doesn't seem so terrible anymore, does it?

The natural progression of things usually leads to people asking how they're supposed to sell this stuff. Getting all antsy I see, but we need to answer an even more important question first; what interests you so much that you're just dying to try and sell it on the internet? Better yet, where do we look to find these "affiliate programs"? This is what really trips people out, most every company online has an affiliate program that people can openly join. Ebay? Yep. Amazon? Of course. Larry's Lifesize Ant Farms? For sure. Here let's test it out, go check out your favorite online retailer right now, and look at the bottom of the page for a link that will usually be called "affiliates". Once you find your affiliate program page, read through the retailer's rules and conditions and all that good stuff, and make sure you find out how much they pay out in commission on each sale. Some programs offer a great rate, but some programs offer terrible rates. In this case it pays off in the end to research these programs thoroughly.

We now have a product to promote, voila! This is where the fun part starts, we get to pour our heart out on why we love this product so much. What we're going to do is write an article explaining why everyone should buy this. The better your writing skills are, the bigger your income with this project will be. At this point, head on over to Yahoo or Google and do a search for article directories, and then proceed to submit your article to these websites who publish it for tons of people to see. If you feel extra ambitious, submit to a bunch, increasing your chances of making money. The higher number of directories you submit to, the better of a turnout you will have with this venture. Each directory should have a resource box for each article you submit, always remember to add your affiliate link in here.
