Electric Underfloor Heating Systems

    View:
Heating is one of the most important parts of a new build home, particularly if you are a resident of the cold rainy UK. Normal radiant heating systems have been in use for many households for many years, however, they have been proven to be inefficient in using up energy. Heating systems like these tend to be fixed up against the wall, which means that they are more likely to take up unnecessary amounts of space and can be a waste of space.

Radiant heating tend to circulate heat around the house by allowing the heat to rise, trapping some heat by the ceiling and heating the upper body. With upper body warmed people are more likely to feel head-achey, dehydrated, lethargic, sluggish and uncomfortable. The bottom half of the body remains cool or cold, which does not provide satisfactory warmth to the body. Other types of heating that can help with an evenly distributed heating in any room is underfloor heating.

Electric underfloor heating are in particular is more popular than any other, as these are cheaper to install and are relatively low cost. Hydronic (warm water piped underfloor heating) a little more expensive as they take longer to warm up and often can be uneven in providing warmth. However, they can circulate heat efficiently as this is good at warming the lower half of the body. There is no loss of heat and the warmth is kept well insulated.

Furthermore electric underfloor heating can help in providing you immediate heat; therefore you would not have to wait so long to warm up the bedrooms in your house, with the added help of being able to better control your temperature gauge. With electric floor heating you are able to feel the temperature changing more quickly when adjusting it on the controller. It is also easier to control which rooms you would like to warm up and which ones to leave cool.

However, when installing these kinds of heating system you will need to make sure that you have the right flooring. There is no point in installing underfloor heating if you have carpeted flooring, as then you will not feel the benefits. Most people who install this kind of heating system tend to have tiled or wooden flooring, which is better for good heat circulation. Some heating systems are specially designed for heating ceramic tiles, slate, stone, hardwood and laminate floors.
Electric Underfloor Heating Systems
Heating in homes is an issue for most people in the UK, considering the weather is generally cold and rainy. Having central heating in the house can be a costly thing, racking up your heating bill and using up unnecessary amounts of energy sources. However when people decide to have their home renovated them naturally decide to upgrade everything, from kitchen hobs to the heating system. Traditional heating normally comes in the form of radiators mounted up against the wall, which circulates heat from the middle of the room towards the ceiling.

A cheaper option would be to install a different kind of heating that is capable of heating the rooms up evenly and conserved much of the heating along the bottom half of the room. Underfloor heating, particularly electric underfloor heating is something that many people are deciding to install because they are cheaper to run and have reduced in installation price. Furthermore, these do not to run on a high temperature and can be set up below the normal temperature that radiators work.

Electric underfloor heating have become more popular in the UK because they cost next-to-nothing to install and have the further advantage of heating rooms from the floor up keeping a constant temperature. Normal radiant heating tend to keep the heat trapped around the top of the room, particularly in corners by the ceiling and can easily escape through gaps of doorways. Underfloor heating ensures that all your rooms are benefitted from an even level of heating.

Furthermore, people are able to control the settings of the floor heating for each individual room, rather than having to turn them off manually. The thermostat generally allows the user to take full control from one spot rather than having to tend to each heating system. This helps to save money more easily and control the temperature setting of the heating system. The bathroom however, usually has the thermostats fitted onto the outside of it, due to health and safety.

Most electrical underfloor heating are installed inside the house that have wooden or tiled flooring. There are some areas in which heating does not have to be placed indoors, in cases like these heated mats can be used to keep the flooring warm. These can be applied to driveways, ramps, porches and paths. The idea is that the electric floor heating mats act as a preventative for the area becoming frozen or snowed over, so they are easier to drive.

However, humans are not the only ones that appreciate the benefits of floor heating. Farmhouses that house piglets and chickens, which have underfloor heating, benefit them in many ways, one of the benefits being prolonging their life expectancy. Further evidence has shown that this method of heating helps them to develop faster ensuring a much higher survival rate. Heating can also be placed in the soil where plants can benefit from the warmth for optimal growing quality.
