Elegant Timepieces

    View:
In 1881, a 23-year-old gentleman named Achille Ditesheim in La Choux-de-Fonds, Switzerland founded a tiny watch-making factory. The trade name Movado was chosen, which means ?always in motion.? The firm was awarded the gold medal for quality, creativity and design at the famed Liege Exposition in 1905. The company initially specialized in the production of pocket watches. The operation later expanded when the wristwatch became popular. The Movado watch would remain ahead of its time for decades. An American artist names Nathan George Horwitt in 1947 combined purity and function with an historical and astronomical sense of time. His simplicity of design has been unrivaled in the history of timekeeping ? the single dot. This evolved, according to Horwitt, through his experiments seeking a pure and economical way to conceptualize time. He likened the dot to time, not as numbers, but as the rising sun and orbiting earth. The gold dot in place of the number ?12? symbolized the sun at high noon, and the moving hands suggested the movement of the earth. Horwitt's dial design was selected for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in 1960. It was the first timepiece design to be awarded this distinction. The Movado philosophy is as valid today as it was in 1881; excellence of design, meticulous craftsmanship and the continual search for technological innovations. Movado has revolutionized time technology, to date earning more than 200 design awards and a reputation for time keeping pieces of unique beauty and remarkable function. Movado clocks, like Movado watches, are some of the most beautiful timepieces on the market today. Whether you are looking for corporate gifts, or a special timepiece, or even a travel clock to put in your luggage, Movado is the brand for uniqueness and elegance.

For the executive's desk, they have multi function desk pieces featuring their museum dial clock along a hygrometer, thermometer, magnetic paper clip tray, business card holder and ballpoint pen. Movado also has a rotating aluminum desk piece featuring a museum dial clock, hygrometer, thermometer, and a photo frame. Another outstanding desk piece features the museum dial clock along with a pop-up note dispenser and a silver tone pen. The smaller desk models are heavy enough to be used as paperweights also. One of the most popular models has a spinning dial that can be engraved on one side. A gift of time, together with the Movado name and style, will memorialize any occasion. They also are perfect for personal recognition gifts or to celebrate a special event.

For the home, they offer elegant pieces in crystal. There is a frosted black crystal trapezoid shaped table clock with silver tone accents. Also an architectural mantel clock with silver and black museum dial mounted flush with the case. The handsome crystal pillar with silver-accented museum dial is outstanding wherever it's placed. There's also a beveled mineral glass collection, which works in a home or office. It especially lends itself to engraving for all types of occasions. For the ultra-modern, they offer pyramid clocks that catch the light to show the museum dial with goldstone accents. A commanding impression is made with the faceted case that reflects light brilliantly. This has a graphite dial with goldstone accents. For instant approval, the sloped crystal that supports the museum dial inside a planed chrome bezel is the perfect choice. Wall models are 12' tall and have a molded silver tone case. They are easy to read at a distance, and add beauty wherever they are placed.

To add with your travel accessories, you must have Movado travel clock. It has a clear sounding alarm, and easy to set features. Dependable and elegant, it's a convenient way to insure you're on time on your every trip.
