Now for my reasons why using email in your marketing is a good idea.
1. Your hoped-for readers are most likely already using email regularly.
This is going to ultimately depend on your particular market. If your market is one in which your prospects and customers or clients are comfortable using email and do so often, you can bet that your email messages to them will be read too.
2. Emails tend to be forwarded to others.
Email is very easy to forward, many people will forward those messages which they most appreciate. This will extend your reach beyond your immediate readers.
3. Email allows the business to get a message out quickly.
The turnaround time between idea to sent email can be literally minutes. I don't necessarily recommend writing emails quickly - you need to be sure of what you are doing - but there is no delay for printing and mailing.
4. Email can be automated to a large degree.
You can schedule messages to be posted on specific days in advance. There are some systems that even give you the ability to automatically inform your readers of blog updates. Depending on which system you choose, you will have other automation options are available to you as well.
5. Email marketing can increase the points of contact with your prospect.
Most people require several contacts with you before being willing to invest in your products or services. Sequential automated emails will decrease the amount of times you will have to directly interact with them which still fulfilling the psychological need they have to "get to know you".
If you have a new or old business and whether you have other existing marketing methods in place, an effective email marketing system can be your secret to getting consistent traffic to your website.
