Heikintori is the building in the Tapiola shopping centre. It is the first shopping mall that has many different shops located in one building. Around Heikintori there are two department stores, several cafeterias, McD, and a large grocery shop. It is a small beautiful shopping centre with different types of flower arrangements planted in the neighbourhood of the mall every summer.



In September 2001, Finlands second largest shopping centre, Iso Omena, was opened in Espoos Matinkyla. Finlands first Ikea department store is in Espoo.

There is no night life in Espoo, so if you want to have enjoyable evening you will have to go to Helsinki at night.

Every year, a number of high quality and widely popular cultural festivals are held, such as the Espoo Cine and the April Jazz. In late summer, the Espoo Cine international film festival gathers together friends of new European film in Espoo.

The Espoo Car Museum is the largest, most diversified and oldest vehicle museum in Finland. Objects and special exhibitions are often altered, so that those who revisit beautiful Pakankyla in Espoo may find something new every time.

There are motorcycles and cars from the early 1900s up until the family cars of the 1960s and 1970s, which have disappeared from the motoring scene. The sports car collection is of major interest, too.

Serena is the largest heated water park in Europe and is open all year round. There is a 2000m pool area where the climate tropical. There are water slides, several pools, and hot tubs plus regular saunas and turkish steam rooms.

The Nuuksio National Park is a breath taking mosaic of canyons and rocks, forest ponds, spruces and thickets, the Nuuksio National Park comprises the western part of the Nuuksio lake up land, which is the largest and most important woodland area in the capital region.

The Nuuksio lake upland spreads out inside the municipalities of Vihti, Espoo and Kirkkonummi. The nature in Nuuksio changes from rough pine heaths to lush stream valleys and fragrant marshes. The area has nearly 150 lakes and ponds. In Nuuksio, there are also old scenes of culture and civilization in fields, meadows and old pastures.
