With the holidays just around the corner, it is probably the worst time of the year



to start a weight loss effort. With the number of parties, get togethers and celebrations

many people would rather put it off until the first of the year and call it a "New Year's

Resolution."

That is understandable, but there are things that you can do to curb putting on those

extra holiday pounds.

1. Be aware that alcohol contains calories, and an evening out drinking could quickly add

up. Alternate a glass of water between alcoholic beverages to cut back the number of drinks

you have. Creamy drinks like white russians contain more calories because they are made with

ingredients like heavy cream.

2. Avoid skipping meals during the day of an event or party. If you leave the house "starving"

you will be more likely to overeat when dinner is served. A healthy breakfast and lunch are

a part of a well rounded diet, and will help to control your hunger later in the day.

3. Exercise. If you go for a short walk after a filling meal (like Thanksgiving) it helps your

body to digest and start burning calories. Falling asleep in a chair is great too, but won't

give you the benefits that exercise will.

The holidays don't have to be a time to gain more weight before the New Year. You can take steps

prevent this from happening. Who wants to be a year older and a little bit fatter?

We live in a society that is running fast. Where? We really do not know. The pursuit of wealth has made us into maniacs. We shove away the health factor while constantly living off the hook. Our mornings begin with junk food and more generally ends there. Sometimes we have food in the car and sometimes we gobble it in the elevator. Also, we are masters of overindulgence; sugar and cheese mark our lives. This results in a lot of cardio-vascular pile up and also adds many kilometers to our belly size.

All of us look for quick techniques of thinning. We use various diet patterns. We try every marketing mantra; the diet pills, the Atkins diet, Hollywood diet and others but end up being fatigued. Moreover, there are added chances of seizures, immunity issues and relapses once we return to the old diet. Add a lot of fiber, fruit and vegetable to your diet. Fiber gives a wholesome feeling to the belly. This means that the body suppresses the appetite and brings down the junk craving. Fruit and vegetables also play a great part in weight loss. These are balanced diets so the body feels as if there is a party going on. Any fat it had looked to save for famine phase is thus readily shed off. Another important thing is to take many meals of small quantities rather than a couple of large-sized meals. Smaller meals are digested better.

Eat the food that can be properly processed by your body. Each metabolism is different. We can take the help of a computerized diet generator to know which particular combination suits us most. Once we take in food that can be easily processed by our body, our metabolism is pepped up. It begins to burn more calories and speeds up fat loss.

You can also look to use cardio. These are mid-intensity exercises that help in increasing the heart rate. Increased heart rate enhances metabolism. This results in speedily burning calories. We can understand how this leads to weight loss. Cardio also helps in toning the muscles and creating washboard abs for you. Lets take up a few cardio tips for quicker weight loss.

Take a bench and jump up and down on it using both feet. Do it for a minute and at a very fast pace. Between each set, take a 45 seconds rest. Look to repeat it for three times for best results, this might induce fatigue in the beginning. With time the body gets adjusted to it. You can also look for Hindu squat with as much pace as you can. 20 seconds rest is generally enough for this. A hula hoop is another top cardio to lose belly fat. The twirls cause gyrations of the abdominal area. It results in strong pelvic movement hence helping in losing belly fat. 10 minutes a day is largely enough.
