What is your view on failure? How do you feel after you fail? Don not be shy. I know you have failed at something...everyone has MULTIPLE times. It feels pretty bad huh? Why? Why is it that more than 90% of business owners, entrepreneurs, infopreneurs, students, employees, etc, feel that failure is bad? Why have we been taught to think this way? More importantly why have you not re-taught yourself?
Well I will tell you this, failure is GREAT! I bet you are thinking I am crazy, well listen here. A successful entrepreneur understands what failure really is. Failure is just feedback, and that feedback calls for adjustments. Your success mechanism cannot work with out that feedback. So with the right mindset on this misunderstood feeling, failure is formulated at: Failure = Feedback + Readjustment = Success?
Ask yourself that. When I ask myself that, the answer is yes. During my first M.L.M. business I was not closing enough sales because I am not a salesman. It was not working for me, I was failing. So I got plenty of feedback that my business was not converting and I was not growing. This feedback was coming from everywhere around me. This feedback from the failing encounters was telling me that since this is not working, then I should not do it like that SPECIFICALLY, any longer. Rather, I adjusted my tactic and stuck with the goal. I stuck to the goal and kept searching. I kept searching outside of where it required me to make money if I applied this failing salesman that I was (laugh). After the search was over I found a large income stream where I was selling but I was not failing, as I like to call it. Rather than failing at each sale, I was using my creativity and teaching people while being successful and earning a great income.
Get out of the mindset of what you have been taught that failure is bad. Change what failure means to you. Get this Thomas Edison tried 10,000 things before he figured out how the light bulb works. I mean at what point do you tell yourself to stop before you get the end result initially desired. I mean how many times would you have stopped before you reached 10,000? Your try number 70? 200? 3000? Or even this, the baseball player that hits the most home runs strikes out the most.
The definition of challenge to me, based on my life experience of challenges, is to use discouragement to readjust. And WOW will it effect your life so different the next time you come across a challenge, which is everyday.
When treat your failure as a feedback for adjustment it develops into a really a healthy coping mechanism for failure. Much healthier than slumping over it and feeling crappy about it. Know how to understand these feelings and the emotional response of discouragement. Use it to your advantage rather than turning them off.
Everything that I am stating is based on my personal thoughts and feelings derived from my experiences. You of course can disagree or omit this as advice, BUT I have a feeling this applies to everyone. Anything you need to talk about or have any questions, contact me
