What is the use of a fake security camera? It is probably an excellent solution to your home security system if you do not have the money to install a real security camera in your home. Good home security systems can be really expensive but yet having such a system in place is important if you want to protect your family and your property.
By using a fake security camera, would-be thieves will be tricked and hence deterred as a result of thinking that your home is protected. Thus it is a cost-effective way to keep intruders from robbing your home.
Can You Spot The Fake Camera?
With the advancement of technology, gone are the days of totally obvious phony cameras that can be spotted from a mile away. Now what we have, are fake security cameras appearing much like the high-priced real models which can be placed anywhere just like the real deal! And some better models even include motion sensors which can move if they are "filming" the subject. This will give the illusion of a real security camera even though it is not actually recording or transmitting any video.
All these realistic looking fake cameras probably do not cost more than a hundred dollars. Thus this is a small cost for a peace of mind! Of course, if you are running a business, it is still recommended that you get the real security cameras. For homeowners and parents, this is a cheap but great way to keep your household staff in line and give your home a boost of added protection against intruders.
Any Cons?
Even though fake security cameras can look like the real thing and comes in all sorts of styles, costing only a few measly dollars, they are still fakes! You cannot get any real protection that you will get from police assistance should anything happen.
There are some criminals who are smart and familiar with security cameras. They will be able to identify what is a real camera and what is not. Besides, some of these criminals have been known to study a camera's movement and timing so that they can take advantage of the camera's limits. When that happens, you will not be able to provide proof of who was the person who robbed you.
Thus a fake security camera can never replace the real safety security system which offers much more. However if you really do have a budget constraint, such a fake security system in place is still better than none. At least, the intruders will think twice about breaking in to steal and you and your family can feel slightly better and safer.
Fake Outdoor Security Camera
Many people are installing camera systems into their homes and it can be an expensive option in protecting your house. It is important to remember that dummy security cameras do not provide any direct protection to your home or business, if you are broken into then you will not capture any information and there will be no signals. They do have a place in the security system though especially if there is not a budget available for the real thing. It is human nature to be cautious of anything that is perceived as dangerous or threatening and as such even a fake security camera system will deter the criminal.
Like the real systems there are dummy cameras for outside and inside the home. The external cameras come in different shapes and sizes and look remarkably like the real thing; to any untrained eye they would not know that the camera was a fake. These cameras act as an excellent deterrent for any nuisance callers or potential thieves, the units can easily be fitted onto the outside of a house either on the wall, porch ceiling or garage and are very reasonable in price. The inside systems operate in the same way and are authentic and often use the exact outer casing that the real system would use. They provide an excellent deterrent for any would thief, vandal or nuisance caller and again if the budget is tight can be bought at excellent prices.
The features of a dummy system can be quite good and often they will have a fake flashing red light like you would find on the real ones. Usually this would indicate to people that the camera is active and recording and can be used as a distraction for any thief. Most opportunist thieves would not take a risk on a building that displays good security measures. Whilst the cameras provide an excellent deterrent they can also be integrated with other forms of cheap and effective security. It would be a wise idea to install signs and decals to promote the fact that the cameras are operating this would add even more credence to the security measures.
If you were to compare the costs of a real system to that of a dummy security camera then the savings will be quite high. The main savings will be on there being no need to install any wiring, the cameras and anyone that may be required to monitor or run the system. Many of the fake cameras can be bought for around twenty five dollars which is a fraction of the cost of a real camera, if you have a large house or premises then multiple cameras would also be required pushing the cost up further. Whilst the fake security cameras have their place and can benefit many houses or businesses they are not the real thing and as such cannot record images, if there is anything of value that needs protecting then it would be wise to invest in the real thing.
