Without overexerting yourself or overextending your budget, you can create memorable wedding favors for your guests and still have enough money to enjoy your honeymoon. Here's how you can take store-bought craft supplies and create one-of-a-kind gifts for members of your wedding party as well as all you friends, neighbors, and family members.



Choose Your Colors

A Fall Harvest or Winter Wonderland theme is easy to achieve with decorations. Before deciding what types of favors to make, decide on a color scheme. Red, brown, orange, and gold are all colors commonly used by fall brides and grooms. White, silver, and blue are often incorporated into winter wedding attire and decor. Once you have picked a few colors to work with, visit a craft store to see what types of items that they offer that fits your wedding theme.

Items to Pick Up at an Arts and Crafts Store

Some common items used to create fall and winter themed wedding favors include:

*Colored cardstock and patterned scrapbook paper

*Glitter in several different colors

*Glue

*Scissors

*Different lengths of ribbons in at least three different colors

*Beads and charms to compliment your theme

*Metal jumprings

*Jewelry wire in a medium gauge

*Wire clippers

*Round nosed pliers

Assembling Your Wedding Favors

Enlist a group of friends to help you create table placecards and beaded bookmarks for all of your guests. Give each person a job to do. For example, assign one task to each member of the group. One person can:

*Cut cardstock down to size and cover it with patterned scrapbook paper.

*Measure the length of a standard trade paperback book and cut lengths of ribbon to make

bookmarks for each placecard.

*Snip off pieces of wire and form a loop on each piece with the round nose pliers.

*Add a jumpring to each charm and hang it from the loop on the wire.

*String beads on each piece of wire and form another loop at the top that is wide enough to slide a length of

ribbon through.

*Add the ribbon to the beaded charm by slipping it through the top loop. Straighten the two pieces of ribbon

until they are even and tie a knot at the top.

*Punch a hole at the top of each placecard and hang the bookmark off of it.
