Jeans. The once humble but standard issue garment of choice for any self respecting tradesman, odd job man or parents out with the kids at the weekend. Not anymore. Since the Levi’s ads on TV in the 80’s attempting to raise the profile of our humble jeans, there has been an almost universal acceptance of the once humble jeans as a true fashion item. There are an incredible array of shapes and styles today, with a cut or a style for every occasion.

As an example, teke the skinny jean. If you have the figure to wear these, then expect to take some criticism from the more generously proportioned among us who can’t or more to the point, shouldn’t. I don’t find these jeans particularly attractive or comfortable as they hug the legs from hip to ankle. These are the jeans that look sprayed on, often leaving nothing to the imagination.

If you‘re lucky enough to have the figure to carry this off, consider yourself in the minority.

By far the most comfortable fashion jeans I own are straight leg jeans. They’re the same size from thigh to ankle and look amazing on a huge spectrum of shapes and sizes. Just be careful not to wear these too tight and you’ll be turning heads aplenty.

There are any number of other styles of fashion jeansFortunately, fashion jeans come in a huge range of other styles as well, such as bootcut, cropped, flare, wide leg, baggy, the list goes on. I love the fact that jeans have now been elevated in stature to the point where going out to a nightclub in a pair of fashion jeans is perfectly acceptable. I should think so too, when you consider just how much some of the top brands cost.
