Fixed gear road bikes are the answers to all the people who love riding bikes but hate having to shift gears. A fixed gear bicycle is the simplest and oldest type of bicycle. Pushing your limits on these bikes make it an excellent form of hard exercise. When you need to climb, you don't need to think about when to change gears, because you don't have that option. Instead, you know that you must just stand up and pedal, even though the gear is too high for maximum climbing efficiency. This makes you extremely stronger. You do not have the temptation to slow down and shift down and give into temptation when you see a hill. It forces you to keep pedaling at a higher intensity level.
