When you take anything in pill form, your body is only absorbing about 10 to 20% of it. The rest is eliminated as waste by the body. This is especially true for vitamins and nutrients that are in pill form. However, when you take vitamins and nutrients in liquid form, the body absorbs approximately 98% of it, allowing the nutrients to get all the way to the cells, where they are needed. Pills are hard on the digestive system, but the body digests liquids quite nicely.



Another problem that we face when taking vitamins is that we don't really know what to take, or how much of it to take. Have you been to a store that sells vitamins recently? The choices are overwhelming to say the least. Most people leave the store with one bottle of a multi vitamin that doesn't have the majority of what we really need.

It's all very confusing. Some vitamins, minerals, and nutrients are not effective without the presence of other vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. For instance, Zinc is not effective without copper and vitamin C. Furthermore, you need a specific dosage of the copper and vitamin C, based on the dosage of the Zinc for the Zinc to do what it needs to do. If you aren't a pharmacist, it's impossible to figure it all out and keep up with it. Most pharmacists can't even do that!

Another drawback to taking pills is that they are hard to take. While some people can toss a handful of pills in their mouths and swallow even without the benefit of water to wash it down, other people still mash up their aspirin in jelly and take it with a spoon ? simply because they have a very hard time swallowing pills.

Children and senior citizens have an especially hard time with this. Other's have a fear that they may choke. Still other's have had bad experiences, where they can't get the pill to go down, and it dissolves in their mouths, on their tongues, where the taste buds are ? if this has never happened to you, you better believe that pills have a very nasty taste, and they leave an equally nasty aftertaste as well.

Many people also have a hard time digesting pills and capsules. They experience a feeling of indigestion, like the pill is stuck somewhere between the throat and the stomach, or burning stomach pain as the stomach tries to deal with the substance and break it down.

So, the next time you purchase vitamins, or the next time your doctor prescribes medicine, think about this, and request the liquid form!
