It could be anything. Maybe it is a plate with some half eaten food on it, an open pop can or glass of water. It seems innocent at the time, and you probably flick your ash or mash your butt without even really thinking about it.



You might think about it later though. When your face turns a spectacular shade of green and your eyes bulge from your head. You might think about it when you are gagging and clutching at your neck, trying your best not to bring up the turkey dinner you ate just an hour ago. That turkey is not likely to taste as good coming back up, as it did going down.

On the other hand, you might think about it when you accidentally take a sip of that yellow, nicotine stained water still in that cup. You might not enjoy choking like a fool when the ash slips down your throat.

One thing about cigarettes is that they taste horrible. If you have ever left a few cigarette butts in some standing water, and taken a sniff afterwards, you will know exactly what I am talking about; cigarettes and liquid just do not mix.

What if it is your kid that chokes on that nicotine concoction you so casually made? Or maybe your best friend brings over her little one, and they drink from the cup of cigarette sludge.

Kids (and adults in larger doses) can become violently ill from drinking or eating a cigarette. It may sound funny and possibly look it too if you are the one doing the drinking, but it certainly is not when a child is heaving and crying.

Not only do you run the chance of feeling terrible but if it happens to be your friends kid that drinks the polluted water or soft drink, they are probably not going to be too happy with you.

It is just not worth it in the long run. If you need to smoke and you find yourself in an emergency cigarette ash falling situation, forcing you to use the first thing convenient to you, then for everyone sake empty it afterwards. It will take you a few moments, and can save you from an embarrassing or dangerous situation.

Or (and this is extreme) you might think about quitting all together, and save yourself from the possibility of this ever happening to you or your child or even your friends child.
